By now, slowly but surely, the fine Britains Victoria Cross series, Crimean War and Indian Mutiny (Assault on the Secundra Bagh) are fading out and the dealer's shelfs are getting empty.
It is a shame as especially the Crimean War series with the fine Cavalry Figures was very well done.
Are there any plans to come up with a new "glossy" line in the future to replace the Victoria Cross series?
One that has cavalry, artillery, infantry and all that :D
Thanks for any info.
Konrad

Good question Kogu. Where might we be off to?

I hope the Seven Years War continues to expand. Maybe a French-Indian raid down to New England with a little farm house in the background or New Englanders heading north to unsettle the French settlers.

Maybe the war of 1812, or the far west with US soldiers in blue like Rin Tin Tin, and Indians and maybe even a few Mounties.

I'm looking forward to hearing from the others.

Hi Russell,
I very much like your FIW suggestions and the currently produced Redcoats/Bluecoats and the glossy Zulu War are great.
But when looking for opposing armies in battle, like the Russian Infantry/Artillery vs. the British Cavalry in the Crimean War line or the Sepoys vs. the British troops in the Indian Mutiny line, then there is only the Zulu War right now.
So, I am curious if Richard and Ken might have something up the sleeves concerning a new glossy line with opposing fighting troops.
Plains Indians vs. U.S. Cavalry would be very cool.

Hi Konrad,

These were similar questions that I raised in my thread on "Victoria Cross Series - Retired ?" sometime back.

I put the question to Richard and he promptly replied in another thread "2009 Britains Catalogue"'.

For your easy reading, I have done a copy and paste job.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Best Regards, Raymond.

:)

Dear Raymond:

Randy was right on the money, we will continue to add to the Victoria Cross ranges through single figure additions in the Redcoats series. So, Victoria Cross as a stand alone range will indeed disappear but the units that appeared in the series will receive reinforcements through Redcoats.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Richard

i really like russell's idea to make canadian mounties always loved playing with my set of 3 mounties (Set 7236) while i grew up giving me a fascination with them as i got older! there hasn't been much in the way of canadian models since apart from the 2 sets they released for the collectors club (Set 40314 & 40315) both of which i quickly bought lol so id love to see britain's tackle them again mounted & unmounted sets would be great & maybe we could get a set of thier pipes & drums band that would be a different novelty for the limited edition series ?

I agree Craig. I don't think there has ever been an RCMP band. :(

Hi Raymond,
sorry for my late reply. Just checked this thread again tonight and thanks for the info.
We will see what they have coming up in their Redcoats series. Looking forward to it.
Poses for a "Thin Red Line" in the quality of their current "Classics" would be great.
Konrad

Craig, I went to your links and saw the photos-very nice.

I have a Mountie band by Ducal. It's been put away. I'll try to hunt it out for a photo.
