I've been impressed with the attention to detail in this series, but in the last episode they showed Spencer Haywood being kicked off the team before the NBA finals. He actually played in a couple of games in the finals. Probably worked better for the narrative to deal with him and NBA finals in separate episodes. Really unfortunate that he didn't finish the season. Can't recall if he got his ring (along with McKinney who was fired during the finals) for that season.

I think in a defamation lawsuit...you have to show actual damages...
say if a player portrayed maybe lost an endorsement...a financial loss...
and could prove it was over the show's portrayal of his character causing his losing monies...
they might have a case...

there was a disclaimer in last week's episode saying "some fact...some embellishment"...etc...
which might negate any legal action in itself...

still...to the general viewing audiences for the most part...they assume this is how they really acted...
which is probably annoying to the real life persons that the dialog is based on...
still loving the show...
