The winter tigers i have stay at any angle as well

Very small amount of white tack and, you will rectify this problem and, do no damage to your tank

I use small pieces of cotton to keep it elevated (the barrel, of course)...

I use a piece of a Stim-U-Dent toothpick.

My winter tiger elevates at any angle which is good!
My jagdpanther on the other hand is very droopy.

A small bit of paper that is folded or even a bit of paper match stick jammed under the mantlet should be good and leave no residue.

Repaint the barrel with a 1:4 mix of Sildenafil citrate and Vallejo 820 off white model colour paint, and it should do the trick mate.
