Spotted this LRDG on some 1/35 modling internet site tonight and thought this would be a perfect limited edition model to produce. Especially from someone like Figarti, KC or HB.

Just a thought to filed with everyone one else's wish list. LOL

Here is some pictures of the LRDG. It probably has limited appeal since it's not armor.

I think that it is unique enough to be a sales home run, especially if painted up as shown......Michael

I'd buy it in a heartbeat, if K & C reissued it, especially since you can't get the retired versions.

I'd buy one as well, but would prefer it to be a general release. Wouldn't it go well with that Kiwi Dingo ;)

That model looks excellent ,I know Tamiya makes a kit of the
LRDG truck.Unless K and C revisits this model I might have to
put my very, very ltd model making skills to some use and have
a crack at building one.

Here is Tamiya models. Leadmen

K&C did this exact 30 CWT Chevy Truck, produced in resin and metal, in virtually identical Long Range Desert Group Markings back in the late 1990's. The detail was spectacular, and it was one of my all time favorite K&C products. The reason it was made in extremely limited numbers was the extremely delicate nature of the resin it was constructed from. Quite a few broke in transit. If Andy could reproduce this model in a tougher material like polystone, I think it would be a fantastic seller.

great models leadmen ,I have build up a nice collection of glossy
sudan highlanders since viewing the shots you posted on the forum
a while back [got a nice gattling gun a couple of weeks back].

Louis, I think I have seen a photo of your chevy on the forum recently
which looked excellent .If i,m not mistaken its in kiwi markings as well.
I would love too see this done again maybe in a couple of different
markings so you could make a patrol.

I would also love an entire patrol of LRDG Chevys. Instead of just different markings, why not different weaponry mounted on the back (like the real trucks), or even a radio truck with its aerial up, and the radio operator sending a message.

Now your talking ,But even in the realms of wish lists I didnt want to
push my luck too far

Dear Louis,
If James Wang of Figarti makes it to your house for the Symposium, you should show him the LRDG Chevys. When he likes something and wants to make it, everyone at Figarti, including Rick, defers to him.;)

If Andy won't do it, it would be great if Figarti could make this. Consider it purchased.

The desert stuff is getting better and better, can only imagine how good a revisit to LRDG would be.Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

Rob

:) How about Tony Soprano, dressed up like a SAS Desert Fighter, and Louie the Lip, and Sonny the Hammer, are ALL in a Chevy-30 CWT Truck, LRDG looking to 'Whack' Bin Laden, and His Capo's?I would buy this set in a HEARTBEAT! OH, you "Talking to me"!

Most of the LRDG were Kiwi soldiers the rest were Rhodesians
