are here.

I am less than pleased with the Shermans; I really like the winter camo on them, but they are almost entirely plastic, a far cry from the diecast tanks Dragon used to make. The price is not reflective of this, marked at 20.00 each. The 1/35th Wittman is a beauty, but not cheap at a suggested retail of 80.00; it is nice though........

I have numerous Dragon 1/72 tanks. Their early releases had much more metal, but even though the metal content has plummeted the quality has stayed high. Admiral Toys' 1st few issues in 1/72 were 90% metal, now they have adopted Dragon's production scheme - mainly plastic. It will be interesting to see if Hobby Master follows suit. I have ordered the KV-1 and looking forward to it arriving. Their prices are similar to Dragon. If the metal content in the KV-1 is like you say, will they stay there? I doubt it. Admiral has already announced their change in metal content. They are counting on making their money by issuing limited runs. Their upcoming 1/72, Russian Su-85, which will be like Dragon, as far as metal content goes, is listed at $44.95 pre-order! The next few years will be interesting. The 1/72 market is one of the hottest going. Where will prices go? Hobby Master is already making a very nice line of 1/72 planes, with a lot of metal. I hope the tanks stay mainly metal. We will see.
