I am unhappy about my M.Wittmann tiger tank 007 as i think is an unaccurate
reproduction for the last tiger of this german tank-ace
I would like to reworked a little ,so i have in mind to re-painted in the winter whitewash of the russian front.
This tank is a mid production rubber wheeals version
Do you think this is a feasible and accurate camo scheme[whitewashed] for this type of tank?
Can i use water colours on this tank?
thanks for your reply and or for any other suggestion

Wittmann 007 Tiger was in Normandy in 1944 so a white wash would be wrong

Yeah but he says he's going to repaint the whoile thing to be something other than Wittman's Tiger. So basically the quest is is it ok to repaint a mid production Tiger I in a winter whitewash camo?

That would destroy the value. The Wittman tank was not whitewashed. The debate on rubber vs steel wheels was discussed at great length on this forum and other forums and never resolved as to which is correct. The only major inaccuracy is that 007 had zimmerit and the K&C model does not.

If you don't like the 007 model, I would suggest you sell it and buy one you do like. I would certainly not whitewash it. If you really want a white Tiger, see if you can get the CS model or wait as I suspect the K&C Kursk tiger will come out in a white version with zimmerit.

There were lots of whitewashed mid-production tigers.

Here's my Alexdakar repaint of the wittman eastern front tiger, it was originally a Tunisian tiger so it's doable if your of the frame of mind, decals by Peddinghaus

It only seems like a matter of time before a new winter tiger is issued as the winter tiger from four years was an enormous success.

I agree, another Winter version is bound to be popular and is much requested on this forum.Would be interesting to see how it would compare to the last one.

I don't do snow or sand, but I would be on board for a new winter Tiger from KC. It would be my only winter piece and would be great as a stand alone. -- Al

NMRocks,

That is an excellent repaint! Couple this with a good scenic and you have a really master piece! Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
