World of Tanks Beast for sale on First Legion Website (1 Viewer)

Good question, the description does say "as close of a replica of the in game IS-7 Granite as possible"

It certainly does. Has it been embellished in any way for the game or is it historically consistent with the actual tank?

The IS-7 was really just a prototype and never saw series production. The main tank is accurate to the IS-7 design, but the additional equipment, add on turret AA mount, camo, etc. are all from the game since it never historically saw production/fielding/combat.

I hope these World of Make Believe tanks don't interfere with the of production of the historically accurate ones. It's about time some new ones are released.

Those are my thoughts concerning this new release as well… There are a lot of other historically accurate tanks I’d rather have seen FL make (a Russian T-34/85, IS-2, and others come to mind). That said, the WOT game licensing tie-in is very likely to bring in a new audience for FL products.

...or reissue ones that collectors did not get the chance to buy the first time: Sherman, M-48 etc.

Disappointing that FL are moving into a ‘fantasy’ market.

I do hope it does not denigrate from Stalingrad which FL have so faithfully & superbly portrayed.

More reality & less fantasy please.

They have to try and bring in new blood somehow, if attracting gamers is the model that works great!! All for it. that also allows the models you love to be produced going forward.

WOT is a great game played it since the beginning, not all the tanks are prototypes. Some really cool real tanks in the game too, give it a try!

I agree. If it increases the customers I think that helps the hobby overall.
