Does anyone know if WW1 Turks have been issued by any of the plastic manufacturers? Are there any other sets that might be close in appearance?

I would check on armies in plastics figures they might have something

I did think about them and had a look on their website. There's nothing under their WW1 list but I did think they'd done something at some point - maybe it's a discontinued line?

There was talk that Larsen Toys were going to release a range but I don't think anything came of it.

Yes indeed. They were on a long to-do wish list. One of many sets that the world is now poorer without....

I was wondering if Japanese heads from WW1 or even 2 might work, if I stuck them on the right 'body', like those Germans you mentioned?

Who or what is Larsen Toys? I found a maker of wooden blocks online, but nothing about toy soldiers. Is this the same Larsen you speak of?

Larsen Toys was a short-lived company I had for a few years. I produced a range of WW1 Anzacs and had plans for other things but it never quite got going. Jack, who is a long standing friend of mine, was one of my first customers and he's recently used those figures for a Gallipoli diorama.
