Guess I'll be the first to step up........as you may have guessed I am a K&C Napoleonics collector, the period is a very interresting one. I love all of the K&C time periods and don't blam anyone for wanting to collect from K&C...they are all great!!!!!!

Napoleonics are pretty and if I had countless $$$'s and space I'd collect them behind WWII first and ACW 2nd. I grew up with Marx's WWII toy soldiers and John Wayne movies in the 60's.

Well, I collect both WWII and Napoleonic, plus Streets of Old Hong Kong, Imperial China, etc. I also collect Figarti, Frontline and East of India. No lulls for me between releases ... pre-orders and monthly shipments for the next 6 months, with items constantly added to outstanding orders.(Panting Smiley Face with tongue hanging out)

I,m sure its not to hard to guess which side of this fence i stand on.:p

I collect both. Toy soldiers are almost a product of the Napoleonic wars because of the interest in Europe and variety of potential figures. Beyond K&C, I think WWII collectors are at a significant disadvantage because many producers seem reluctant to take on the historical stigma attached to the Germans.

Ouch...looks like the Napoleonic line only is hurting for people...glad to see some people collect both..

Cheers
WELLINGTON......:)

Hi.
One more for Napoleonics only, but I have an interest in the Streets of Old Hong Kong (my wifes actually, but I pay for them!).
Regards.
Jeff.

With apologies to the Napoleonic fans, it's strictly WWII for me, but I have to admit, if I knew any thing about that era I'd be a big Napoleonics collector. The colorful iniforms, the horses, artillery, they sure look nice set up around that French farmhouse and courtyard, maybe I should.................no!!!!!

Only WW2 for me. Not that I don't want to collect Napoleonics you understand....

While for the past eight or nine months I have been collecting Napoleonic's, I still love the WWII collections. I would collect many more of the K&C series and other manufacturers collections if I could only win the Power Ball. Not a chance in doing that. So if I had not been such a smuck in buying so many Napoleonic's (over 1,000), I too could have the newer WWII releases. But, I want to create a large battle with only K&C infantry and cavalry and Del Prado cavalry (they are made by K&C anyway so why not add them to the mix).

This large battle has taken all my budgeted cash resources to-date. However, I am just about caught up on the Napoleonic releases and I have again started WWII sets. I just ordered the Conte' LCM3 from George at Minute Man and I cannot wait to set up a beach scene. I just received a new display case, thanks to recommendations from members of this forum; I got a Howard Miller Townsend Village display case off the truck last Friday. I will be putting the LCM in the case as the first display.

As soon as I get the details completed on the Napoleonic diorama, I will attempt to post some pictures. Never having done it before I know I will struggle but I will get them up somehow. And yes, I sacrificed money for a digital camera, finally. But did you know I could have bought the Winter Tiger or some other K&C figures instead. :( I guess its all a matter of priorities. Michael and others,

What's the best and most inexpensive place to get these displays. I saw one awhile ago that wasn't that expensive. It was lighted and sort of triangular. Not huge but probably good enough for my needs.

I collect Napoleonics only. I started with 30mm figures in 1964, which is about you could get in the States back then. I've just started with the 54mm since K&C began producing them and seems committed to a robust line of Napoleonics.

I got my new case from an on-line furniture store http://store.evolutionaryoffice.com/homito.html . This was the best price I could find on this particular model (its 80"hx50"wx21.5"deep). $200 less than all the others from what I could find. Since I live in a small rural town of just over 5,000 about 150 miles north west of Minneapolis St. Paul, my furniture store selection is limited and with free "white gloves" shipping, I could not pass it up.

They do have a selection of other sized models http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-b...p://store.evolutionaryoffice.com/nsearch.html.

Since you are in a metropolitan area, I believe your selection of local stores is much broader and cheaper. Get out of the house, away from the computer and do some shopping - Take the wife to lunch, make her feel like it's a special shopping trip just for her, and then get the one you want.:p

Thanks. I probably need to do that, especially since she says I'm obsessed with King and Country :D

I collect Napoleonics mainly. Just because the colorful uniforms translate well to toy soldiers. But if K&C did some WW2 Pacific theater figures I'd probably buy some. Something different like the American defenders of Bataan in their WW1 style helmets, British Chindits in Burma or Australians in New Guinea. I know they did Iwo Jima but those figures don't look that good to me. Not up to par with the current releases.

I,m glad to see there are some more napoleonic collectors out there. I,m also glad to hear from a few new members. What do you other new members collect, and don,t be shy we don,t bite(most of us any way).:D

Michael, your Naploenic diorama pictures are as fantastic as your recent ww2 diroma was.

Hi folks, I'm new to the amazing (and to this forum too) world of collecting toy soldiers. At the moment I only collect Napoleonic figures by King and Country. Their are great !
