Worst plastic soldiers ever. (1 Viewer)

I don't think the figure's on that page were that bad at all
But it should be pointed out that there some plastic makers today that do make the odd pose that are rather silly in my book.
Has anyone tried standing on one leg holding a sabre over head and shooting a pistol with the other hand .

Yes, but it really hurts! :eek:Michael

These were my favorite style of soldier growing up the first time. I loved the bayonet forward guy, standing shooting, sitting sniper, standing mg guy..Officer standing /shooting pistol, did I miss any? Michael
I had these figures as well. My favorite was the sitting sniper with the scoped rifle. I think there was a guy throwing a grenade but wouldn't bet on it. Liked that they had no bases, making them easy to dig in. Don't have any of them left, I fear.:( -- Al

He actually looks like a vintage 60mm Marx, he was also copied by Lido. The Lido figure had a netting like appearance on the helmet.

There was a guy carrying an ammo can and a prone guy crawling with his rifle in front of him. My favorite was the sniper.

The author hasn't seen what is for sale to the average kid today in the typical non-hobby store.

They are copies of copies of copies. Pathetic blobs.

And! I disagree about the dead guys/casualties. The stretcher guy/team from the Marx Battleground set was amazing! The so called "medical set" that was in the Battleground sets was at the apex of Marx toy soldiers, IMO.

Interesting link nonetheless. Thanks for posting it.

Your pathetic blob comment reminded me of the worst soldiers, quality-wise, I ever had. Back in the 80s I was given a set that featured a big plastic aircraft carrier - a hollow shell with a removable deck (it smelled mysteriously of bubblegum). It came with a bunch of planes and two armies - the good guys, which were green but had weird shallow helmets, and the bad guys, which looked as if someone tried to clone an Afrika Corps set with broken machinery. The latter were monstrosities, nearly flat and utterly featureless save for the hats. I'll post a pic if I come across any.

I know. I had the set of mounted Swiss marines that they made and I was most disapointed by the somberos instead of the steel kepis and I don't think day glo magenta was the correct colour to make them in.
I'll try and put up some pictures.
