Fictional characters from movies based on real events like WW2 as a whole no....i.e Kelly's Heroes no (love the movie) REAL people as in Band of Brothers yes.

Fictional characters from Fictional movies like, Lord of the Rings................possbily....not really toy soldiers in the traditional sense....but would make an impressive collection in 1/30th scale...oops jsut mentioned scale hope that doesn't send this thread into free fall.....just kidding.

IF K&C could make a set of figures from the movie the Magnificnet Seven then at least i'ld be able to give them to Jack for Christmas!!!!
Yep Phil, I can see Jack and a dio of the Seven, yep he would love that.:wink2::rolleyes2:^&grin

Third rate humour concerning a second rate movie from a first rate...{sm4}{sm4}

Totally agree personality figures of real WW2 heroes from Easy Company or any other film based on real events would be great but fictional characters not so much!

Well said Craigwould not buy Kellys heroes figs as the film was pants anyway ( IMHO only of course) but real personalities from WW2 always welcome. If you start putting film characters in your collection it loses realism

Interesting thread.

However if I could have one item based on a movie it would have to be Oddball and crew sitting on their Sherman. Don't care if the Sherman is not accurate or that Shermans were not issued with those speakers etc. Then second choice Clint, Donald and Telly when they were walking towards the Tiger. Magnificent 7 another good one.

For Zulu fans I suppose Conte Bromhead (Caine) and Chard (Baker) v Britians series versions is a good example. Who are you displaying ?

Regards
Brett

tie to movies could bring in copyright issues and raise the cost (again)! no way!
K&C can sneak in some well known movie-like characters, without giving their official movie names. Just like First Legion bringing in Sharpe

Love the idea with the right characters. I think Tradition madea Sharpe's Rifle set that fits in pretty cool with one of my highland squares. Not interested in any fantasy or sci-fi figures.

A series of figures for collectors who like the movies

All tho not movie related and with ANZAC Day next week as an Australian I would like to see a set of figures that show Diggers playing the legendary game of two-up which was played at every spare moment the Diggers had, just my suggestion.
Wayne.

I agree with you on may things, but soldiers playing two up? Which company is going to make a set of a dozen soldiers standing in a circle watching one soldier throw two coins in the air? War could be outlawed for a thousand years before a toy maker finally says -We've done eveything possible - let's have a look at the sculpts of those guys playing two up'.

That said - I have no doubt that you could make a pretty good diorama with the figures- in the desert of course!
