That is just the way it is my friend. If you want it and you do not have it. Then we just have to see how bad they want it. What the problem is? It is coming out of their pockets. They are adults and the market is as the market does.

No this is wrong I say......these pieces are NOT worth it...they are inflated!!! They should be sold for what you paid or less......who cares about the shipping you paid or the taxes etc etc...

Sir when shall I release the calvary...not yet sir.....wait for my order!!!!

Be easy on me now Brad!!!!!!! or I may have to call in the artillery...:)

No offense Wellington but when it comes to the World War II prices for retired prices, you're a bit out of your element. None of the prices paid for the items in question in today's market is outlandish. As a matter of fact, the price for the Winter Tiger is below market. If your local dealer has any of these items, I would advise you to get it and resell it. Pays for a lot of Napoleonics.

Now, that's a different question: are they worth it? That's up to each buyer to decide. Would I pay $600 for a Winter Tiger? No. Would I pay $700 for a Warbird? Yes. It all depends on what makes you tick.

Brad sorry I disagree I don't think they are worth that...I feel that perhaps they are over priced....It must be the heat of the moment during the auction that has got people paying this kind of money...HOW MUCH DID THEY RETAIL FOR? When were they made?

Brad just because you are willing to pay that much doesn't make it worth that kind of money, just because they are retired doesn't mean much...does it?

and you are right Napoleonic Collectors are ignorant of the WW2 market and yet WW2 collectors are an AUTHORITY over retired NAPS and what makes NAP collectors tick...Personally PM01 AAND PM02 are worth 1000 tigers....if you have them or find them which you probably have I would sell them to buy more tigers.

HOLD.....

Wellington,

I never said they were worth it. I'm just saying the prices are not crazy if you want them. I think we're mixing the concept of "worth" (a subjective concept) with price (which is a bit more of a factual determination). When we do that, that's when trouble arises.

The Winter Tiger originally went for $199. The 88 was $89, and AK 24 was $76.

I'll agree that I'm ignorant of the Nap market and I can tell you I'm no expert there :).

My Point Exactly Brad...they Are Only Worth What Someone Is Willing To Pay...so If My Naps Are Retired And They Are Hard To Find Whether Its This Year The Next Year Or The Year After That And The Collectors Want The Figures Then They Will Pay What They Feel They Can Afford.....i Like You Brad And Did Not Want You To Respond To This Thread But Since You Had Then I Hope You Can Respect That Nap Collectors Value Their Collections And Protect Their Investments As Do Ww2 Collectors....i Am No Expert On Ww2 Stuff Either (toy Soldiers That Is.... Ask Me What A Real German Helmet Costs And I Can Help You There)but You Can Certainly See When Other People Start Saying That Your Collection Is Worth Less And That Your Retired Items Are Not Worth Anymore Than What You Paid.... It Would Be Frustrating....

Ps Thats Great That Someone Found 2 Or Three Kgl Figures There Are Actually 10 Or More Sets To The Series And Some Are Hard To Find And Some Are Not .... Good Luck On Multiples And If Your A Wise Guy Thats Ok..talk To Me This Time Next Year And Tell Me If Its Any Easier Putting Together A Series Of Retired Naps..

BRAD THIS THREAD WAS A CHANCE FOR ME TO PLAY THE OTHERSIDE OF THE FENCE...AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THE EBAY ITEMS ABOVE ARE WORTH THE PRICE IF PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR THEM. AND IF THEY ARE NOT GO FIND THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE..

IMO, he is not trying to steal anybody. The starting price was 300,00$ while the retail price when released was 199,00$ and we are dealing with a long time retired item.

Pierre.

I want to mention one thing. If anybody runs down a Nap collector's collection or those of other Nap collectors, they have no right to do so because what we collect (no matter the cost) is dear and important to us and I'm sure that Wellington and other have many an item that other collectors would love to have.

W. perhaps I should have kept this to myself as I really had no intention of ruffling your feathers. I found about 20 KGL figures available at or near retail price in various locations, but most of them were multiples of 2 or 3 particular figures and I passed on most of them. What I did get for my own collection and not for selling at a profit, at least not anytime in the near future, is 5 of the 8 figures that I am aware of with 2 in duplicate. I am afraid as you have suggested, that the other 3 may not come easy, although I still have a couple of possible sources I am looking at for those. Otherwise they go on that "might find it at the show" list that I suspect most of us have. Once I get them, and at whatever price I choose to ultimately pay, I will be very content with completing this set for my own personal enjoyment...and that is really the bottom line.

So, honestly not trying to be a wise guy, and perhaps guilty of butting into a conversation I ought not have, but genuinely wishing no hard feelings or ill will from one admittedly Anglophillic collector to another.

No problem its a free Forum....generally when something retires its takes a lillt bit before things dry up....once these few figures are gone I don't think it will be easy to get them...I'm glad that you found the figures you were looking for and I hope you find the rest.....by the time my children get my collection I'm hoping they will have a real treasure...

WELLINGTON

May I ask what figures you found hard to get? Mr. Dave.....thanks for the positive coment...as well as Brad...

Yes, I am still in need of NA71, 73, & 76....but I'm on a mission and will keep you posted as things develop.
