Wow Look At The Price Of This One (1 Viewer)

Watch those DISPATCHES boys !! He will retire more Napoleonics - you can count on that !

Okay Ron, what's your guess on which specific items will be next to go...yes, we are asking you to have a go at predicting the future so we know which order to buy these things in.

Gideon.....my thread was trying to prove a point......if you want to understand the whole conversation look at my previous thread....."WOW"....

Ahh Forget it! I just broke down and ordered some more 42nd figures:eek:, can't wait till Mr Dave starts a run on them;). Well, that's the excuse I'm telling the missus and I'm sticking with it:D:):D.

I think it is great items selling for a ton of money! As I have stated before I have not talked with to many collectors comics, cards, toy soldiers starwars etc that want the value of there collection not to go UP! We collect because we want to but we all hope in the back of our minds that our collections value increases with time. I like to collect the things no one else has or very few have if I have to pay the price to get it so be it. Its no fun to have cabinets full of worthless metal. Its a lot more fun to have cabinets full of items you love and have them worth some money. Cant see too..... many arguments with that! We are all treasure seekers!

Hee, Hee, Hee. Good idea, I just ordered a few last night myself, but don't worry I've seen your large displays of redcoats and I cannot compete with the sheer magnitude. I just need about 12-24 of any particular unit to suit my needs.

Darn! Try again...maybe you have to shake it a little or something.

Okay, just found NA73, NA76, and another NA72 at retail, so just needing that NA71 now. It's been a real adventure...can't wait for these guys to start showing up in 1's and 2's from all over the country. :)

That's great news Dave. Sounds like all your searching has paid off.
Congratulations.

Cheers

In all seriousness, while the nap. figs. have shown a unprecidented spike, the others retired vehicle sets can be a real bargain. Not longer than 2 years ago standard set prices were $89.00, now the standard price has nearly doubled with the new releases. The market is "soft" now, retired prices have lost there edge and some fine sets are pretty fairly priced if you shop. I guarentee you this, as the economy picks up steam and the real inflation effects set in, retired prices today will have people "dreaming of the day".:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yeah, thanks H! My nurses have gotten kind of fed up with me being on the phone and online every spare minute this week since Monday AM, but......I was clearly on a very important mission.

Dear All

I will be happy to see more NAP retirement ... solely for the fact that it means more new reinforcements will be on the way .

Now ... let's see, anybody fancy a Scots Grey Officer ?

:p

AHA! So that's what happened to that extra NA048! A pox on your house! Just kidding:D:);). How do you like those Scots Greys? I'm holding out for some Inniskillings or other English Cavalry for the moment but only because I already have the Greys in glossy, otherwise I'm afraid my resolve would have already crumbled.:)

Oh, that wasn't me that nabbed the NA048 this time, though I intend to get a couple more of those eventually. The Greys I have been admiring for a long time, though they were always somebody else's until just recently. Have gotten half of them now and look forward to getting the rest of them in time. Also am excited about the possibility of a new British cavalry unit down the road. You know it's going to happen. BTW which glossies of the Greys do you have? You have a lot of Tradition figures as I remember.

MD

Total of four tradition glossy sets, 1 command set & 3 cannon fodder set guys (they come 3 to a set). Also have matte tradition of Sgt Ewart and another set of a Greys Trooper fighting a French Dragoon. I am really excited about British Cavalry options for the future. I almost started the French Cuirassier line but the std bearer is falling back after being shot in the head:eek: and there's just something about that that turns me off. I think it's because I really like the std bearer figures and want them in classic poses. Not K&C s fault just my preference.:)

I have never purchased a retired vehicle on e-bay for twice or three times the price. Yes the prices are high for certain sought after releases, but I don't have a problem with anyone shelling out as much as neccessary for a vehicle they want very badly. The way I look at it, if I want it bad enough, I will buy it when it is available, or I don't worry about it if I miss the boat, because there is always something new coming out. The economy isn't great, so I can't spend $400 or $500 for a retired winter Tiger, when I and everyone else has to spend almost $4.00 for a gallon of gas.

Steel

Dont get me and Rob on fuel!!! $4 be happy! trust me be very happy!:D

My SUV costs £65 to fill ($125 circa) and its only a midsize!!!!
