Hi does anybody have a clear pic of this one please?Thinking of buying it,thanks.

WS27 is a nice 4 figure set of Panzer Grenadiers. I just sold my set last week. I had forgotten all about it, and found it sitting in an old display below my Conte Church set up.

No sense hiding it, so now another collector is enjoying it!:)

Thanks mate not a bad looking set,and great pic much appreciated whats it worth ????

I have it going over $200 3 times. I just sold my set last week for $185
which I thought was very nice for both of us.:)

I bought it new and enjoyed it for years. Recently it wound up hidden from view. I like to be able to display my items so it was nice to pass it on to another collector where it would be properly displayed and enjoyed.:)

This is the second of 4 sets Andy has done of Panzer Grenediers walking, with an officer with a pistol, and Grenediers with a schmeisser, a mauser rifle, and an MG42. With each depiction of figures in these poses, the sculpting and painting of each new version is a vast improvement over the last.

The First is WS08, a set of four Panzer Grenadiers advancing alongside a road. The first of these walking figures, an officer holding a pistol in front of him in his right hand, and his left hand resting on a MP40 Schmeisser sub-machinegun slung from his left shoulder, wears brown ankle boots, camouflage pants, a gray tunic, black belt and suspenders with a pistol holster on the left hip, a German style pack on his back, binoculars around his neck, and a camouflage German style helmet. The second walking grenadier carries an MG42 over his right shoulder, and wears brown ankle boots, camouflage pants, a gray tunic with the sleeves rolled up, black belt and suspenders, a German style pack on his back, and a gray German style helmet. The third walking grenadier turns his head to the left, while holding a Mauser rifle in his right hand, his left hand holds the strap of an ammunition case slung over his left shoulder, and wears brown ankle boots, camouflage pants, a gray tunic with the sleeves rolled up, black belt and suspenders, a German style pack on his back, and a camouflage German style helmet. The fourth of these figures is in the same pose as the second, but with a Mauser rifle rather than an MG42 over his right shoulder, and wears brown ankle boots, camouflage pants, a gray tunic, black belt and suspenders, a German style pack on his back, and a camouflage German style helmet.

WS08 was followed by WS27, whose figures are in the exact same basic positions as the grenadiers of WS08, but infinitely better sculpted. Andy forwarded me the drawings for these figures, which are nearly perfectly captured by the sculptors who created WS27, a wonderful improvement on the WS08 theme. As good as this set appeared, there were improvements on the horizon.

WS40, “Marching Infantry”, is a third, and again improved, version of the theme commenced by WS08. Three of the young, cheerful soldiers are bare headed, the fourth wears a cap, all have their helmets slung from their belts. Their youthful smiling faces and cropped short haircuts are crisply depicted. They are the poster boys for the armies that overran Poland and France in short order, and have not yet faced the horrors of the eastern front.

WS58, “Fighting Patrol”, is the fourth variation on the theme initiated by WS08, four walking Panzer Grenadiers. This time the leader carries a panzerfaust over his right shoulder and a Mauser in his left hand, wearing mottled camo pants, a gray tunic with a gray helmet slung at his belt, and a mottled camo peaked cap. The second grenadier carries a Schmeisser with both hands, wearing gray pants, and mottled camo tunic and helmet with goggles. The third carries a Schmeisser in his right hand, with his left hand at his side, wearing gray pants, a spotted camo tunic and a mottled camo helmet. The fourth adjusts the strap to the MG42 he lugs over his right shoulder, wearing spotted camo pants and tunic, and a helmet with netting, and a belt of ammo around his neck. The sculpting and painting are sublime. It is hard to believe that WS08 was produced by the same company.

Louis,

Your depth of knowledge of K&C never ceases to amaze me.

I stand in awe.....

The research I did to write the books on K&C opened my eyes to quite a bit of interesting information about Andy and K&C. The same tendency to reproduce much improved sculpts of the same theme can be seen in German Tank Rider sets (2 sitting and 2 kneeling Panzer Grenediers, starting with WS09), German attacking sets (1 Grenedier throwing a potato masher grenede, 1 firing a Schmeisser, 1 standing firing a mauser, 1 kneeling firing a Schmeiser, starting with WSS2), even Tiger Tanks. If the Volume on K&C WWII from 1998 through the present ever gets published, you will see quite a bit of this.
