Just saw Alexdakar’s question about 2 slightly different versions of the walking WS08 machine gunner.
Looking at both figures and trying to cast my memory back I think the gray base version is the earlier produced one. The ‘natural’ painted one is definitely later and more in keeping with painting styles of bases today.
Even the German camo is different and that was because in those days we often only produced a couple of hundred of any piece and we often experimented with different camo versions for the next batch.
Re Fully Automatic’s question about WS03. Again in these dim and distant days we were always trying out something different when we ordered a new batch of figures.
Also with a relatively tiny K&C collector base (as opposed to today) we wanted to get the maximum use out of our molds and masters.
WS03 and WS06 are two of the best (or worst) examples of this “experimenting.”
Even I forget the major and minor variations of painted versions we did on our motorcycles.
