Ok a question.....I have to place WS193 Normandy bunker in a dio for a friend and need to know which side is suppose to be the front (facing the enemy) any suggestions?

Ta Wayne.

For me Wayne, I would prefer to have the back showing the steps, makes for a quick retreat. Robin.

Also those climbing rungs would need to at the rear to prevent being exposed to fire as you climbed. Robin.

Robin agreed, what confused me was the larger firing port! :confused: I thought that was the front but thinking about it you would want the smaller to the front to reduce enemy fire penetrating the bunker, well that makes sense to me at least.....:rolleyes2:
Wayne.

Wayne,
An interesting question of which is correct or which looks better ?

I think the doorway more likely to be in the rear away from the direction enemy going to come from. However depends if you want to show the Germans coming out of the door which I think makes for a more interesting display as otherwise will not see the doorway at all. WS174 looks good coming out of the doorway (to his doom) and the eventual owner of your Dio has that figure.

Would ask the friend or make it so he can place either way.

Wayne;
I've visited a lot of bunkers and the big firing opening is always the front. The K & C bunker is equiped with a concrete support that not only serves as a support but also as a protection for who is entering or leaving the bunker from fire coming from the front. Your last picture is the position I would choose.

Your right Guy the side walls are to protect against blast . We're lucky in Europe there loads of bunker with Jersey having the most per mile

Wayne-mate, ah yes would prefer the rear exit myself,^&grin with the side support on the left out front, however you could get a bit creative and turn it so the exit comes out the side so it joins a trench or something similar like the beach scene of 'Saving Private Ryan'?

Cheers!
