WS69 Order Mistake Looking for 2 WS69s (1 Viewer)

I had the misfortune of dealing with a new dealer who made a mistake on my Stug IV WS 69 order. Based on the feedback from everybody about how good the new Stug looks I and my local King and Country friends decided we would all like one. To save on shipping I placed an order for all of us last week. I called today to follow up on the order and get a tracking number. The dealer then casually informed me they had made a mistake on how many Stugs they had available to sale and my order would be light by two Stugs.

Well now the problem is tracking down 2 more Stugs or we are going to be playing short straw here and I might lose. I have called a couple of dealers and they are out. Does anyone know of any dealers that might have a couple left? I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

Thanks,
Old Guard

Try George Guerrero at minuteman toy soldiers in Boston. He may have a couple left.

The Neville family, aka K&C UK, have it in stock. However, VAT and other related costs push it to £ 99.95 before the 15% shipping charge, which probably makes it unviable for a US customer.

In Belgium, Jean-Louis Denays is still carrying WS47 and WS69. I got a SF03 humvee from him before and he'd appear to be very fast shipping. no prices displayed for trans-Atlantic shipments though:

In fact I could probably list a few European suppliers but it'd be better if you e-mailed one or two of the US dealers who do not have websites.

As Jazzeum advised try George, I spoke to him last wednesday and he still had a few. I believe he will be able to set you up. He is quite a nice fellow and would be a good contact for you to make.
Be sure to tell him we all sent you, he will appreciate it.

Looks like it's still available from K&C in Hong Kong. I ordered two directly from them last week.

Most dealers I have talked to said Hong Kong was out and they couldn't get anymore.Brian Greenwood had two as of last week....He also had some of the limited Napolionic's left...

Jazzeum thanks for the heads up on George Gurrero at Minuteman. I did not get a chance to call him today (it is shameful how work gets in the way of toy soldiers) but will call him tomorrow. I will keep my fingers crossed till then.

If George doesn’t have any I will try Brian Greenwood as you suggested Fullyautomatic. I do believe that King and Country in Hong Kong is sold out since it is no longer listed on their web page.

Cannonfodder1971 I do appreciate the links to Europe but for now will try to keep it in the states since shipping is such an issue. I do appreciate all the help you guys have given me and will update you to let you know if I was successful on my search.

Thanks,

Cannonfodder, you'd better email Jean-Louis before you become too enthousiastic...

Jean-Louis still has every item listed in his catalog, but that does not mean he still has them. If you email him, he will give a list of what is still available. It certainly does not mean that he still has Ws47, because I tried to order it months before, and he didn't have it then.

You're still right on fast shipping though. I think he's a shipping champion... :D

Hi Old Guard
We have WS69 that we can supply and as Cannon Fodder mentioned there would be a shipping cost BUT there would be no VAT on product that we sell out side of the EU. ;) So you can deduct VAT from our costs (which happens automatically when you put your address on our e commerce site when ordering) King & Country UK and if you are a member of the K&C UK collectors club you get an extra 5%! So that would mean WS69 would cost GBP85.06 + a further 5% when you are a member, so roughly US$140 depending on exchange rates!
The no VAT would apply to all products we sell out side of the EU.Hope this helps.

Maybe the quantity of WS69 available for dealers is out in K&C in Hong Kong but the fact is that at 8h00 am this morning it was still available as stated in theit website. I made a fax order. I don't know if it helped but I'm a member of the collector club.

Pierre.

Well I got hold of George and he was a real gentleman and I have two Stug IV on their way here. Now everybody is happy and nobody has to get the short straw. Thanks Jazzeum and Njja for recommendation. George was a real nice guy to talk to and I am impressed by the dioramas George has done. By the way George might still have 1 Stug left.

I did also hear back from an email I sent to Brian Greenwood that he still had a couple left. I had already heard from George by then so I did not need them but if anybody else is still looking you might want to call Brian quickly.

Bob Neville thanks for jumping in with you offer from across the pond. If I had been unsuccessful finding any here I would have been sending you an email.

Pierre I must apologize the older I get the less brain power and eyesight I have. I could have sworn that King and Country had pulled the Stug IV from their website but I was wrong. It is still up and available.

Thanks to everyone for your help. Now thanks to all of you a major crisis has been averted and I will not have to knock one of my friends unconscious and steal their Stug.

Thanks,

Nice going, its to nice a piece to miss! George is a nice fellow, I just picked up the Conte Church from him......its Hugh!
Njja :)

Guys

I know that the K&C UK guys still have some WS69 and they are very quick on delivery. My brother in New Zealand buys from them as being a member of their club and not having to pay VAT it is cheaper than getting it from other countries. Also Mike and Bob always like new business and willing to help where they can!!

They hold a very big stock of K&C so always worth a shout www.kingandcountry.co.uk.

Njja,

Man I want that Conte Church but need the money for more soldiers. Is your church the one on George’s web sight? He told me that he was working on a custom one and that he had added floors to it and a place for a 88mm. No matter what when you get it you should post a picture of it, I would love to see it.

I am impressed with my limited edition Stug IV. I own the original but I do like the paint job on the new one better and the commander figure is a little better. I am glad I got it.

Thanks,

Njja, I have always loved the Conte church but yours looks bloody marvelous. I can see were George has added and customized quite a bit of it too. The box it came in most of been huge. I am very envious. Let me know how it works with the K&C soldiers. The scale should be close enough that there would not be a problem. The windows look a little large to me then I remember them. Did George make them bigger for you so they fit the scale better? When I have a few more WWII sets and some more money I will have to check out getting this.

Alexdakar, thanks for the link to Ken Osen’s customized Conte church. It also looks bloody marvelous. I have always admired Ken Osen’s work. To my mind his ACW Britain’s were the best soldiers that Britain was releasing at the time. I loved his Conte ACW sets also and own several. I like his work with Troiani Miniatures but cannot afford to collect them and K&C. Does he sale his customized churches or is this one just for display?

Ken Olsen is a very nice fellow, he designed the Conte Church and spoke to me at length about it at a toy show here in Atlanta. I know he made the one special for Michigan Toy Soldier. He made that one quite a bit larger to fit their display.
I think the scale fits perfectly with the King and Country figures. It is quite large but I have it sitting on a coffee table in my den and it blends in perfectly. I will shoot a few pictures with some King and Country around it to show the scale.
Right now I'm walking softly because I moved my Great Pyrneese (125lb Giant White Dog) treat jar when I installed the Church on the coffee table. So far he doesn't seem to mind.
I certainly don't want it to wind up as his newest chew toy!
Njja

Boy who had better move softly. That is one big dog. Hopefully he will adopt all your toy soldiers and the church and treat them as if they were his sheep heard. I can’t think of a better protector. It’s great you got to meet Ken Olsen. I have heard he is a nice guy.

My dog is a Lhasa Apsos so I do not have to worry. My main concern is the 18 month old Isabella who thinks toy soldiers are good to grab and go running away from Daddy with. She of course laughs while I chase her. I have definitely had to move my collection higher.
