Should be an interesting project to put it in the Russian front where it belongs

Managed to do some work on the set today. What a pain it would have been to paint this grey the aimer in place!! so, decided as its easy to remove the bits to take the aimer from the main part of the gun and, some of the rotating handles. I also managed to get a first coating of primer grey on the AFV. Will second coat with Matt grey tommorow and will prime the gun grey later tonight

Very nice job so far Mitch. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Looking good, Mitch. Looks like a fun project and will result in a historically accurate piece. Nice. -- Al

Most of the repaints are done by hand I find I can get a better texture and create a better result than with the spray gun. I know these guns are good and I have one but, I always seem to end up hand painting.

I have just about finished and will post a pic or two later. I use vallejo paints and panzer aces range same manufacturer but, I mix the grey myself as I find there are so many variants of german grey and they never seem right straight from the bottle or tin. I also use Mig washes and filters as they do a really good wash for grey armour which, I apply after a couple of coats of grey let it dry and then touch up with more grey. I weather with gun metal for showing chips and wear and tare and use Iraqi sand for light weathering. All Vallejo paints.
