Where I live in Greytown NZ it was one of the Kiwi camps for the general troop mobilisation. The boys then marched over the Rimutaka mountains for embarkation at Wellington for overseas service. Kiwi's saw action in Samoa, Egypt, Gallipoli, Palestine and the Western Front.

These matte painted figures by Regal represent the Kiwi's as they would have looked marching 'over the hill' in 1914 for embarkation - many would not return. Both Australia and New Zealand became true nations gaining respect during the Great War. But when the 'mother country' called Kiwi's did not shirk from their sense of duty.

That is one great looking company of Kiwis. Regal did an outstanding job. -- Al

Lovely figures- lemon squeezers and Lee-Metfords.:smile2:

Would love those as castings.

Great photograph mate, I had no idea 'Regal' also did Matt figures, would love to get hold of a set of those sometime, are Regal still producing them?

Yep by commission- basically ask them to do them in matte. $45NSD each I think.
