The price for these birds are listed as $199 on treefrog. It states that it will come with the pilot. Just want verify that it does indeed come with the pilot. If it does that's a great price for both IMO!

It would seem that it does. I earlier thought that the two were seperate but it is a package according to the KC website. It does make a nice deal from the price aspect. -- Al

Yes it comes with the pilot
I preordered mine today and it comes with the pilot
Julie said so

Even I missed that point and I am dealer. Need to read the details more carefully.

Recommend pre-orders on this one.

I hope you guys are correct about the pilot coming with the plane.
I just reread on K&C,s web site and in the description of the plane it says "it goes with, (name the pilot)" not "the pilot comes with the plane.
I think we need some further clarification on this. I ordered all 3 pilots seperatly but only one plane.

The Treefrog site says the pilot comes with the plane.

Gary,
I missed this when reading the Despatches but web page and Despatches to dealers says :

" In addition to the “pilot ‘n’ plane package” all three German Air Aces are also available as single figures…"

Hope that helps.

Gary is right. You need to read the fine print.

For example, here is what one says:

"This particular Albatros was flown by the future Luftwaffe Chief before he took over command of the “Flying Circus” after the death of the Red Baron. The plane goes with Hermann Goering."

The pilot figure for Goering is listed separately. "Goes with" means you match it up but it doesn't say or mean it's included. For that to apply it would have had to say "comes with."

Was just about to post that :)

Case solved and closed :)

I received confirmation that yes, the pilots are included with the planes.

This is great news and just confirms that the new WW1 aircraft are a great price. Subtract the individual pilot cost of $39 and you have a airplane cost of $160, a price level one would have expected 1-2 years ago. Credit where credit is due, this is a true bargain from KC. -- Al

If you click each description it says Notice: The pilot so and so comes with the plane. So each plane
a Pilot is included.

I was watching "Jeopardy" last night and was shocked to see that the "Red Baron" aka Manfred von Richthofen, was the answer to one of the questions. It was a legitimate history question with reference to his flying period (1915-1918) and to his victories (80). The contestant answered with the nickname instead of the proper name but Alex accepted the answer. History still lives. -- Al
