Well, after waiting what appeared to be a year...almost a year since the British 18 pounder and limber was announced. It was on my door step waiting for me...#313 of 450...I think this was longest I have ever waited for a pre-ordered piece..but it was worth it!:)

Terrific looking piece. Must have set you back some. All good thing come to those who wait:)

Very nice piece! Love that horse drawn artillery:cool:. Definitly worth the wait I'm sure.:)

I saw this up close last week in the Tradition shop in London and I can see why you are so happy! I think this has to be the best set they have ever made. Well worth the wait.

Might temp me to consider buying a matte set - RHA has always been one of my favorites

I don't collect that time period.....but that piece is very tempting!

Are the horses attached to that base? or do they plug in and did you have to connect all the traces to the horses?

Hi There! We tried it a few different ways and in the end we decided to attach all of the horses to a single large base so we could properly model the tugs. The limber hooks up to the crosstrees...these are attached to the tugs and horses. This seemed like the easiest approach, and we would probably use this same system on our other horse drawn artillery sets coming down the road.

Straight from the horses mouth so to speak :D Thank you for the info Ken, much appreciated. More horse drawn sets you say  I am intrigued :)

A beautiful piece and I am sure a great addition to your colelction. Thanks for sharing it with us.

That's a nice looking set. Glad to hear more are in the works. Would very much like to see Napoleonic artillery done this way.

Yo Troopers, sorry guys dont like it one bit, gets the thumbs down from me. Looks a bit silly six horses on half of Texas and the Limber on nothing doesn't look right. But as they say each to his own, think this is a step backwards from Britains Old horse drawn Artillary pieces. Weighs 3.5 Kg postage to US will only be about $120.00, he wants £42.00 to Ireland DOH:eek:.
Bernard.

These sets are all pretty much sold folks. Richard and I did not get one yet, and we may have to live with a cobbled up pre production sample.
We tried to make individual horses with correct tugs conneting them all together and it was a nightmare keeping everything attached and lined up. Then we tried two strips of three horses...some of you had a chance to see this version at the shows...and there were still attachment issues. The end result could have had the limber attached to the base too, but the current version allows you to display the gun seperatly if you like.
If we were to do this in gloss then we could just suggest the tugs, rather than model them, as we have in the past.
All the best,
Ken

I agree that sometimes it can be tricky to get multiple horses connected. Perhaps just a base for the cannon to sit on to bring it up tp the same height as apposed to attaching it directly to the base.
I agree with you on the gloss sets they would be better done in the old style that Britains used.
