WWII guys...just curious...are these good prices... (1 Viewer)

Mark,

After re-reading I understand your point and if it was you who purchased those three sets, then you got a great deal on the French legionnaires, one of the rarer K & C glossy sets.

At any rate, I think we've beaten this subject to death.

Now that you have CC, do you also have the Beatles and Elvis, so that you have the complete "music" series.

This "individual" -- discretion prevents me from saying what I really think about him

Brad...

I'm not overly concerned about your need to know why I apologized to Peter...that message was directed directly to him...not to you...

I wish I had not started the thread...I thought it was a reasonable question...I'm not knowledgeable about WWII set prices on Ebay...

but since you ask...

his polite responses to you were time consuming to him...time he would not have wasted if I had not made the post...

for this...but mostly coupled with the insult thrown at him by you above...I felt I should apologize for starting the thread...

your supposedly "indiscreet comment"...sounded pretty insulting to me...it never would have been made if I had not started this thread...

didn't you use to be a moderator?

when you were...would you have censored your comment if another forum member made it?

Mike,

I agree that the comment you quoted was probably a little harsh, which is why I apologized to him. That still doesn't detract from the overall question regarding prices.

Regarding about what I would do if I had been a moderator, as you correctly point out I'm not one and have not been for several years so it's a question I don't have to answer :smile2:

However, having seen his responses, one does have to wonder why you started a second thread regarding the Beatles set :rolleyes2:

Bad

Brad...

the Beatles thread was directly for you...including both your name and handle in the title...everyone on this forum has known for a long time that you are a music buff...and I had seen that you commented on the desirabilty of owning that set on a long ago thread...

look at the time frame on my posts...I had not read any of your "comments" on the WWII thread until this morning...that is when I apologized to Peter on the WWII post publicly...and on the Beatle's post publicly...and also by private message in case he never saw those...

Mike,

Understood.

At this point why don't we call it a day on this one and move on as I think probably everybody has said what they wanted to say and I'm not sure what more would be gained. I'm sure I understand Peter's position, he understands mine and I understand yours.

Regards,

Brad

I'm missing the Elvis figure...this should now be an interestingly priced figure should one become avaialble...now that this is out in the open:eek:

I have the Elvis figure. Kind of a cool figure. I think I posted a photo once.

Peter,

I'm not really interested in selling but would consider trading for the Beatles set. Of course, I'm not sure that's a deal you would make and probably wouldn't myself if I was in your position :smile2:

I have more than my offer into the Beatles set. That being said, I do have a question. I was going to post it on the Glossy forum, but thought I might be opening another can of worms.

One quick observation that I made on my set and this being my third set; My set is Glossy. The other two sets I had were matte. The few pictures that I have seen, they appear to be matte also. I also have a gut feeling that the figures in this set might be a hair smaller. They look smaller to me than what I recall on my other sets. I measured my Ringo (that sounds nasty!). He is 2 1/8 + a hair.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Peter

Peter,

Perfectly understand. I'm not sure what you might need to make it worthwhile for you but I do have a couple of sets that I might consider adding.

Regarding your question, I'm not sure I know the precise answer but I wonder if it's a case of mold shrinkage. It's probably makes sense to put your question in the glossy question. Maybe Louis or Lawrence will be able to give you a better answer.

I would be willing to trade if Peter can't conclude one. I would be willing to offer these two sets...

Peter...

I want to apologize for posting your Ebay listings on the Forum and soliciting any "undeserved negative comments or attention"...

it's your prerogative to list an Ebay item at any price you want...

I genuinely regret making these posts...I'm here now offering a personal apology for being the instigator of any verbal altercations and most specifically in wasting your valuable time to defend your prices...

Ebay is an open market...you can certainly ask any price you want...

it was a childish and unwarranted act on my part...sincere apologies...I did not think of the repercussions when I made the post...it won't happen again...

Michael Miller

now on a lighter note...if the extra publicity creates a sale to a Forum member...I expect my 10% "finder's fee"...just kidding...

Since this thread is where it all started, I want to apologize to Peter for my remarks. Not sure what I was thinking as he has proven himself to be a class act and I was anything but so apologies to Peter Lalos.

I suppose every cloud has a silver lining, as they say. As a result of this thread, which seemed to go badly, but has now ended up well, Peter and I made a trade; I traded him Elvis and two other sets and he traded me a K & C P 38. It's a beautiful plane (I will try to post photos this weekend) and Peter was happy with Elvis (see the K & C Glossy section) and the other sets so it was good that things worked out well.
