I had made this figure about 5 years back. It uses some modified Airfix and Tamiya parts and a Scalelink bicycle. I've just re-discovered it again and have proceeded to add groundwork to the piece.

I've just realised that in my standing on this forum, I have been promoted to Sergeant. Wow! I can sleep knights now...:) Rgds Victor

I worked on building up the groundwork for this piece, adding bamboo trees and other foliage.

Filled up with pep pills, I painted the Japanese head band, added shading to the foliage and gave the whole piece a wash in burnt umber. This changes the whole tonality of the piece, giving it a grimy look and capturing the humid tropical conditions. I then added the title and signed off on this piece. Finished! Here are some all-round pics.

Your transformation was remarkable .... very nice indeed.
Plus an interesting subject.

Hello Larry,

Thank you for your nice comment. The Japanese invasion is seared into the SE Asian psyche and I guess I must have subconsciously captured that era by being constantly exposed to the dramatic wartime pictures and footage. More to come.
