Hi guys, after looking around the scale shops today there are not alot of planes available at a decent price for a decent plane, so can someone tell me how many WWII planes K&C have available for WWII(not the special war-bird planes) but the regular 1:32 scale, under 200.00 I guess are the ones I'm looking for, thanks for any help...Sammy

This is from Andy's list on the thread "Plane-sailing."

Hawker Hurricane (2 versions)
P51 Mustang
Messerschmitt Bf 108
Messerschmitt Bf 109 “F” Trop
Supermarine Spitfire (1 version already another on the way)
Messerschmitt 163 “Komet”
Focke Wulf 190

I have all the polystone KC Planes, and I believe they are 1/30 scale. If you are looking for 1/32 FOV and Corgi make some nice planes. Corgi also make some that have sound and moving parts which I own and love.

K&C's new aircraft have sent me off into a whole new branch of collecting, until they appeared I had no intention of collecting aircraft, but their Hurricane changed all that. Space is an issue for me right now so I will mainly stick to allied planes and perhaps the Stuka. Cannot recommend these highly enough they come with great quality and value.

F4U CORSAIRS...slowly building-up sets to re-create a Pacific airbase (replete with nipa hut shacks and tents that made up the temporary bases). F4U Corsairs based in various island chains played an important role in the victory in the Pacific.

A OSU2 Kingfisher Float Plane will be great addition, but not in Andy's list.

Hoping that the P38 Lightning mentioned will be Dick Bong's "Marge."

Stuka would be interesting but, would there be two versions one for desert and one for BOB? both look brilliant but, more aircraft art seemed to go onto the desert versions making them look much more dramatic

Mitch, if I had to choose one Desert aircraft it would probably be a MkII Hurricane 'Tin opener' , wonderful aircraft.

PTO aircraft are great. The Kingfisher is a good choice. As to the P-38, one of my favorite aircraft, KC should also produce McGuire's "Pudgy V". Bong and McGuire and their aircraft are iconic. While KC is at it, they should also produce pilot figures of Bong and McGuire and perhaps throw in a figure of Charles Lindbergh, too. Would make a great scene. -- Al

The P 38 is a fairly large airplane. I'm wondering if K & C are experimenting with something other than polystone to make it due to its potential weight.

K&C use polystone metal and resin now so, its odds on that either they are looking at using materials in their current inventory to get these larger aircraft done.

Do any of us ''know'' enough about polystone and its use to say they could not be done in polystone?? I don't know how much would have to go into making the wings but, is it going to be drastically heavy?? as the already completed aircraft were thought to be to big by some even for polystone and, they have passed that test

The current aircraft have been limited to fighters and not overly big ones at that. The P 38 would be bigger.

Except for experts in the field, I would think few of us (including me) know enough about polystone or resin to say anything educated.

Last point, I believe Andy has said on occasion that certain large airplanes are problematic because of polystone. However, I am just going from memory.

Thing is I don't know if polystone can say be thinned enough and be strong enough for longer wings? I suppose a lot of it will have to do with the fixing to the body of the aircraft with say the lightning the engines and wheels underneath must allow some support for the extra wing length. just speaking from building models (I know the weight is different) but, much of the wing is supported by the wheels.

Wonder how heavy a polystone wing is? I suppose a mix of materials say polystone and metal body and accessories and resin wings with metal additions propellors etc would work for the bigger aircraft.

Its interesting process but, its been done with the fighters and some said it was not the material that would allow making aircraft so, it will be good to see how ''big'' K&C can go

The P-38 is big and the twin boom design with the large wingspan will be a challenge. I know nothing about polystone or resin construction of models, so I am just shooting in the dark, but perhaps a combination of the two is possible. The wings from the booms out might be resin to solve the weight problem, or perhaps the wings and the center section could be resin, leaving the main weight in the booms. Maybe the whole craft in polystone will work just fine. The landing gear will have to be strong, though. -- Al

If the under carriage was made of metal I wonder if it would hold the weight as it would be evenly distributed? Resin wings would seem to be logical as its lighter to a degree. I am sure if its in the thought and production line they must have cracked it
