How important is it to you to have the WWII Figures and AFVs to be the same scale so that the figures are in proportion to the AFVs

It would be nice if the AFV and figures are in the same scale. But as I prefer 1:28 figures and 1:32 AFVs, that's impossible.

It has become very important to me that my armor looks correctly large in proportion to the figures. I have become very tired of undersize armor/vehicles in relation to the figures standing next to it. It has gotten to the point where if the armor is undersize, the figures and armor go into seperate displays, away from one another. I'm getting picky in my old age. -- Al

Since I was a kid correct scales were important. It drove me crazy when the Marx sets offered armor and soft skinned vehicles that were too small. As a kid I welcomed MPC vehicles which were the correct scale. Same applies to K&C, Figarti, Britains, etc., today.

1/30 and 1/32 scale can be mixed without too much difficulties. There is always a way to scale up 1/32 to 1/30 scale ( not possible with 1/28scale and 1/32 scale)

well, I voted thats its too late to standardise. Look at the way some collectors now sell or moan and groan that the newer AFV's that have moved to 1/30th don't fit with the older 1/32nd stuff. If the manufacturers changed to smaller figures (for those that do larger figures under the elastic banner of 1/30th) then collectors would have two very distinct collections and, not many want that. The boat has sailed long ago for standardisation so, this is why we have in this hobby the playing around with scales to fix a problem the manufacturers caused.

I know lots of people who buy FOV AFV's and use K&C figures to accompany them. They don't mind the differentiation in the sizes as they are cheaper than the brands released in this hobby. It all depends on what you want from the available products. If your dio making then, it can be important, but, at the end of the day these are just dio's and, if you are going the full remit then having figures all the same height as is done is also innacurate so, you either grin and put up with the way it is or, find a better option.

For me, the scale of the AFV's is far more important and, in general the figures that occupy these are smaller than their dismounted counterparts. The figures will never change from what they are now for the companies who do the larger scaled figures.

Like so much in this hobby, it's a matter of taste. I prefer the figures to be at least CLOSE in scale to the vehicles, etc. I can remember as a lad how the Auburn GIs would tower over their jeep or their 1 1/2 ton Chevy Truck. How was that Marx halftrack supposed to hold TEN men???? Now that we have the choice I prefer to try to be close with my figures and vehicles.
