Just wondering if Conte will ever revisit the BOSS sets or WWII in general?? they seem to have resolved the location issues and such, just wondering if there out or in on WWII for the future...Sammy
 
Good question i would e-mail RC at the warehouse -website he is usually good at getting back to people lately.Mike b.
 
I was talking to Joe Baker who is Conte's main man....BSP is just doing a little project for him. And we both agreed we will push him to not only revisit, but to produce some new stuff for WWII.....Lets see what happens....There is also a plan to do some "Very" unique figures which will coordinate with the BSP Storyline. Alex

I see your influence with manufacturers is growing (I also noted your comment about suggesting ATW to TG and your "we hope you like them").

As a dealer I am interested in Conte plans and your comment that "There is also a plan to do some "Very" unique figures which will coordinate with the BSP Storyline..". In view of other figures and series that Conte is planning to produce and where masters are already available do you have any idea when Conte will do the WWII figures you mention ?

When I last spoke to him he said he was presenting the ideas to his sculptor.....They would be coordinated with our Episode releases. The Conte project is expected to debuit early next year.


TG was thinking along the same lines as BSP, we just encouraged him to actually go through with it.. Alex

I wondered how long it would be before this thread was raised again.

The only mention of coming Conte WWII figures was by Firebat. I am a Conte dealer and had not seen
any reference or sculpt image of WWII figures on his web page or had it mentioned in any email from him.

I therefore mentioned this thread to Richard Conte in November and his response was :

"As to rumors of new sculpts and releases best advice is always ask me
Seems I often have folks 'speaking for me'

NWF followed by Zulu restocks followed by Romans followed by new Zulu followed by Foreign Legion
That's the plan".

From more recent posts and images it would appear Wild West and Scottish are also in the pipeline.

The Lt did answer Sammy's initial question by linking to an update on Conte web page. However that update is
dated March 2010.

My own view is there are plenty of WWII figures around whereas some of the above (ie. NWF, FFL,
West and Scots) would be unique to Conte.

Why raise this?? did Alex not say it was told to him from someone other than Richard involved in the conte products??? so, if it came from the source Alex mentioned then fair enough but, its not and, may well have been correct at the time of mentioning it

I know it may be kettle calling the pot black as I will debate etc about stuff. but, this I have better info than you (or, just gossip) just makes everyone involved look a bit poor IMO and, I see its spread to the FL thread also!!!!

Wow ...didnt see this.

Joe Baker is Conte's main man....BSP is planning a one shot project for Conte....We have no intention to do anything further than this project. We would never step on Joe, we are friends with him.

The project may not get off the ground though, the reason is confidental.....But I can tell you WWII ideas were seriously discussed and The Military Workshop would not be privy to this info.

Richard is not obligated to divulge info regarding projects to anyone............I let a minor amount of info slip, which I shouldnt have, and I take responsibility.

It depends what you understand by the words :

It is one thing to discuss an idea with a producer. However when you are actually announcing when
such figures will be coming out then that is something else.

As indicated I clarified this with RC in NOV but did not mention it here although I did PM Firebat.

The reason I made my post was that this thread (as shown by Ketleone's question) had raised the
expectation that Conte WWII figures were coming out soon. Note Ketelone was commenting upon why there was nothing on Conte's web page when probably the question should have been directed at the source
of the information.

Conte has had images of other series and their sculpts on his web page for all to see. If anything was
coming for WWII (in less than three months from OCT) then it is my belief Conte would have been
seeking pre orders as they normally do.

I can not find the thread but this is not the first time a Conte/BSP project hasd been announced by Firebat.
The previous result (2 years ago ?) was that it did not happen and Firebat posted an apology about the misunderstanding.

Sorry but the above statement is inaccurate......Before the Chicago show there is a veil of secrecy over new products that will be unveiled.....It creates excetitment......We have a very cool project planned with Conte and Mr Conte was looking for the same impact....EXCITEMENT........ Of course all of the flack that has been fired at this project has basically spoiled it.

If Brett is so close with Mr Conte he would also know another reason for the delay and possible cancelation of this project. And if it gets canceled, what is the big deal. We remain good friends with Mr. Conte and sometimes unforseen things happen. Alex

Have to agree with Alex what the big deal Brett and why do keep bringing up old people post up all the time ? The hobby meant to be fun and wonder what your game is ?

Both of you know exactly what I meant. You were both talking about different people involved in running the Conte show and, have no way of knowing, unless you were both present, what was actually said in the conversations.

I was not commenting on the addition of info about a release for WWII which, is helpful to those who wish to know but, it was submerged in a lot of other stuff which, has more to do with issues about Alex and his work than anything else

You must have me confused with someone else as I do not carry Conte, therefore am not involved in any way with his company, upcoming releases information or any other such matters.

It looked to me like you were upset that Brett was commenting on a question another collector had is all.

AGAIN; I do not carry Conte, therefore I know nothing about his scheduled releases and/or what is or is not planned for 2012 and beyond.

I hope that is clear, as in CRYSTAL clear.
 
No confusion at all crystal or otherwise. You were included in the way that you involved yourself by responding to my post to someone else. You also assume I am upset???? when you have no reference to state such a thing. I have no interest in what you carry and did not mention that at all.

Can we just move on from this instead of all the niggling and nitpicking. It is really growing tiresome.
