Hi Guys,

I thought you might enjoy seeing the extra large custom mat I did for a customer of mine awhile back. He sent these pictures of the mat in it's final resting place. The mat is 9' x 5' and has been utilized very well. I love the big battlefield scenes!

WOW that is impressive. I have seen this room before somewhere, I think a member of the forum?

That must be the "Mother of All Mats" Very impressive set up and the soldiers are nice too. :D

It looks most impressive. I would have loved to see some larger photos.

Great set of pictures.

It looks like most of the fixtures were custom made for toy soldier display and storage.

The custom mat nicely fits the display table.

Is it safe to use a hand held vacuum to keep the mat dust free?

Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond,

I haven't tried the vac yet, but I can't imagine you would have a problem as the material used is very durable and can be firmly brushed out without any damage.

Thanks

I use the brush type used to clean billiard table. Soft and easy on the mat.

Additionally, for storing, as I do not have the luxury of space, I roll it on a brown paper to protect it from moisture (also a good form insulation) and inside an artist tube, the ones you get from art store.

Hi Mark,

Thanks very much for your kind comments.

It is good to know where I can get a customised mat which can be kept dust free without hassle.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Hi N-P,

Thanks very much for the brush suggestion.

I never thought of using art tubes for the storage of mats, but it sounds good.

Perhaps, it could be used for shipping as well. (the tubes issued by the post office for shipping purposes)

Raymond:

Check with your local UPS store for used packing (that's where I got mine
(48" X 6" diameter) For this size, I was being charge $15 at Michael's and Aaron's...I got 2 at $5. Good for shipping the item if you want to sell it later on.

Also, don't roll it to tight to avoid creasing, and be sure there's a lot of "play".
