You metal figure kit bashers need to check this out (1 Viewer)

Lures ?

I see Rose Miniatures, Ensign, New Hope, Men O War, Merite, Lasset, Cameo, Sanderson, Old Guard, Vaillant, Bugle & Guidon ...

Allas, sending costs plus custom costs would kill the interesd here in Europe
The " blackened" pieces !! that is what happend when you take a painted lead ( ancient figs contained some time lot of lead) figures and remove paint with an oven cleaner then wash with water.. here experience speaking ... but no problem, a good primer in spray can and it's ready to paint

Will be a challenge to solve the puzzle.. what piece goes with what body with what base ..
Can not be sure all the figs are complete

200$ is still a bargain, check also sending with you US Zip code

If the seller was in Europe, I would certainly bid

I have to say, I had the same thought as Vic, when I looked that auction. There's not a single piece that fits in any period that I collect, and there are various scales represented, too. True, you can salvage much of the material for kitbashing, and at twelve bucks, it's a good deal. Even the $13 for shipping isn't bad. But I thought about what I'd do if I were to bid and win, and eventually, I might wind up melting a lot of it down and recasting it.

Prost!

Sorry to say - but shipping costs to Europe or NZ kill any interest at all - for me. Then there's possible Customs Duty and our own "Postal Charge" to go on top. Lots of interesting bits and pieces, for sure - but it is all over the place - even for a magpie collector like me. jb

I'm guessing they came from a deceased estate lot or similar. The seller would probably do better to try and match up the parts and sell them in lots.

Some nice Rose Napoleonics amongst them and possibly a Stadden 1st A.I.F figure in the first image.

A Valiant Miniatures T.E Lawrence as well.

Hi All,

Actually, if I was living in the States, I would snap up this lot! Lots of goodies there. Its the postage costs that dampens all overseas enthusiasm.

By "lures", I was stating a double entendre (but without sexual content as per Wickedpedia definition). Now they'll have to shut this thread down...:):):) It's all wasted on you conservative lot, being too straight and upright...

I think you're right, Scott. As we have often seen, the survivors of a toy soldier collector or painter often have no idea what their loved one's legacy is, how to identify it, how to dispose of it, and they usually want to liquidate it as quickly as possible. But you're right--they could probably sort out a number of complete kit figures and sell those individually, and make more on them.

Prost!
