As we reach the end of 2012, I thought I would throw this question out there. What was your favourite Toy Soldier item (not range) that you acquired during the year, be it a figure, vehicle, plane, building etc.? It may be that it has yet to reach you and forms part of the last batches to be released this month but to qualify, it must be expected before 2013 hits us.

For what it is worth my favourite item in 2012 was (and remains) John Jenkins Designs S.E.5aD aeroplane. For me, the beauty, the detail and level of research that went into its creation is unrivalled. An absolute gem.

I will answer same for me. The JJD SE-5a is a superb model. I have been all over it many times and I can find no fault, on any level, with it and I am hyper-critical in regards to WW1 aircraft. In fact, I have found very little wrong with any of the JJD aircraft. The SE-5 is the best of a great series. -- Al

Interesting topic...My favorite for 2012 is the K&C DAK ( snub nose ) Pz 4 Ausf D/E...Comes with a full crew compliment of five men...Nicely weathered & IMO a K&C Classic piece !

Any one of the six mounted samurai from FL for me

A great thread, but a hard choice and as much as I enjoy my First Legion Opel this year my #1 favorite has to go to my Stalingrad German sniper, the detail in the whole piece is one of the best I have ever seen...Sammy

Call me a soothsayer but I knew this was coming from you. I think this was a no brainer was it not?

I was expecting to see a thread like this coming up by the end of the year and for several months I was sure that I my pick will be the "Crimean War" scene I got this summer from John Firth a.k.a. beating retreat.
But since the "Officer's Mess", he did for me, arrived just the other day, now the price of being the pick of the year goes to it ^&grin :wink2:
Here it is.
