Ok guys,we've had twelve dispatches, loads of wonderful releases and a huge choice of depth and quality. So what was your pick of 2009?.For me having collected German and US Normandy stuff for years,2009 was the year of the Brits. The LCA was my favourite vehicle of the year (I had to get two;))and for the figures it is DD110 'Attacking'.This whole wave of Normandy stuff was inspired in my view,in one sweep we got figures,Tanks and Defences, roll on 2010!.

So what did it for you guys this year?

Rob

Must also give a runner up prize...which goes to the RAF!:)

My favourite release of 2010 will be either the grey early Tiger or the Russian JS2. Although they would not have met on the battlefield. They will be displayed together filling up one entire display shelf.
(2010 favourites chosen with the help of the Doctor (Doctor Who) and the Tardis)

In other news, the G&T bar will be restricted until after the London Toy Soldier Show.:D

My top favorits for 2009 is the crusaders MK063 and MK066. I think they are some of the best made crusaders in the range!

Another great release in 2009 was the RAF007 HH MkI! :)

And for 2010! No, i won´t spend so many money as i did in 2009! :D

The new cross/cresent - HH MkI and a collection start of LAH realy did the job! Goodbye savings! :p

The Landing Craft was my favourite release closely followed by the Cromwell.
I loved all those D-Day releases this year. I really like the way you can build up the scene that K&C depicted on the box of the LCA.
Add in the Bunker and defenders and it's a tremendous collection.

My favourite release of 2009 is the halftrack and 105 mm howitzer with full gun crew add-ons.

Runners up please guys!:)

Rob

Runner up to the LCA was the Cromwell. One of K&C's best tanks IMO.

Figure wise my favourite figures were the attacking Canadian 2 piece - one firing his sten, the other his rifle. Great stuff.

Runner up figures ( i intend to get them this week) are the Bunker defenders. I love the guy firing his MP40, the harrassed guy on the phone and the dog just lying there oblivious!

3rd place vehicle is the Hurricane. Great piece and relatively affordable too!

Yes that Hurricane is real value for money and an excellent model.

As a mainly AFV collector, I do not feel that K&C had a particularly strong AFV year. They developed several new ranges, beefed up the D-Day figures and got heavily into aircraft. But produced only a few AFVs, some of which were just remakes/repaints.

As a runner up, I would say the SdKfz 251/22 summer camo was next in line.

For me the Cromwell is the stand out K&C AFV this year, that 251 Terry mentioned is also very nice.

I think with the new aircraft this year K&C really struck gold, and with the addition of the new wave of RAF figures they have launched yet another range with real depth. Its a great trend K&C are pioneering now,the habit of releasing a wide range of figures and vehicles/planes in one wave really grabs your interest and makes you want all of them.I do hope K&C continue this trend next year:)

Rob

All the Canadian and British D-Day sets with the Cromwell as the standout for me, really happy to see these made. Honourable mention goes to the RAF, Civil War Confederates, the German 251/22, BOB Americans and Germans, Luftwaffe in action, Crusaders, Napoleonic and..........................................I think you get my point. :D 2009 was a terrific year to be a collector.

For 2010 I am eagerly awaiting additions to Market Garden.

Cheers
CFM :)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there were some awesome releases for 2009. My favorites by far would include the diorama accessory pieces of the jetty and footbridge. Additionally, the capability to make a desert city with the gateway, watch tower, shop house and stables is awesome. I also like how you can use said pieces for a whole variety of K&C lines. Very simple, smart, marketable and I'm sure sellable for the K&C team.

Keep it silly

britsh troops and tank .
canadians troops
sdkf 250/22
hurricane and raf figuurs
landingscraft
bunker whit troops
fob whit the home guard
m3A2 half track

richard .

And for 2010 :
firefly , Pk ,40 grant , Arnhem !!!! .

I find it too difficult to choose a favourite, when there are still december releases to see in the flesh.I only discovered K&C range of figures in march of this year,so in reality this year has been one of discovery for me,with many ,many highlights to remember, all my purchases have been carefully considered thus far, therefore they are all my favourites of 2009,including the many retired pieces i have managed to find.

Totally forgot 'For you Fritz the war is over' from FOB,absolutely superb release and one of my very faves.:)

Rob

For me, the winter version of the 251 PakWagen was tops-new Crusaders a close second-and don't forget the Funkenwagen, a very unique piece.
