For me being a Huge WWII enthusiast, the end of the war in Europe.
The Last Days of the Reich living under concrete. Here I am sharing K&C's Diorama
of Hitler's last parade.

Really good topic, Wayne.

I'm going to have to go with K&C's Desert Rats with Village diorama. I think this particular scene highlights how the allies came together in N. Africa to defeat Rommel's forces. It also incorporates three different themes including Allied armies/vehicles, K&C's Desert Village, and the Life of Jesus. The positioning of the buildings, vehicles, figures, and accessories is well orchestrated making the overall diorama pleasant to look at as one explores so many details. Lastly, the scene also demonstrates that one does not necessary need fancy custom terrain to create a nice diorama, but rather, just nice positioning of their collection on a table, bookshelf, or curio.

This particular diorama inspired me to create many different desert villages with my own British 8th and Afrikakorps collection.

Here's one such village scene:

PS. There are so many to choose from but I've always liked this collection!:salute::

The K&C big dioramas are simply the best - look how many vehicles you can squeeze onto this one!

For me it has to be NAPOLEONIC ,

"an oldie, but a goodie"

King's German Legion Rifles, Wellington and the European farmhouse and walls.

I favour anything to do with the desert. The front cover of the "K & C Collector Issue 31" has an amazing desert village, made for a commission I believe for one lucky collector. Set up as it is with many DAK sets, it is a feast for the imagination. It is also shown within the magazine set up for Australian light horse and 8th Army. Looks great.

for me it's D-Day, my diorama based on the famous photograph of the "Café J.Philippe Epicerie"
guy:)

Harrie🧐👍

It might have been in a Collector issue, but it was the C-47 with all the airborne troops. That C-47 was the one thing in my life that i wished had money for. That scene just knocked me over. My 2nd choice was the airfield scene with the B-17 that I believe Andy and company made for someone.

Harrie🧐👍

If you are looking for "ICONIC" than my vote HAS to be this TARAWA diorama ....

Very little can even come close to the imagery of the Tarawa Seawall, the terrible struggle to get ashore after wading in chest deep ocean, the carnage wrought by Japanese fine and the ABSOLUTE determination of the USMC to push forward.

Even this months release of K&C Marines speak volumes of those three days in November 1943.

Great topic, Wayne

Hi Guys,
What a terrific FUN thread...Many thanks for posting some of your favourites here.
Next week I will post a few of Gordon's own personal favourites...and a couple of my own.
Very best wishes to you all and have a great weekend!
Andy.

If you wish to see many (if not most) of the dioramas made by Gordon, which is current through September 2017, see the thread entitled Gordon’s Work.

I like this simple set up as it contains 'the wall that never was', a wall section with gate and walkways that would be nice if K&C finally decides to issue.

I don’t have a picture of it, but many years ago at one of the Chicago Shows, King & Country had a display up of “Hotel Hartenstein” from the Battle of Arnheim range.
I liked that a lot!

If you look at the Gordon’s Work thread, I think it’s there.

This is one of my favorites also. mainly because of the RED CLAY tennis court inside the green fence next to the Hotel !!!

And I like the Market Garden range
