Can someone tell me who the new sets are personality wise? I got Durnford :D but would appreciate some enlightenment on the others.

Thanks
Tom

To the South Wall (Lt Chard) Stanley Baker Zulu
Some Generals Son (Lt Bromhead) Michael Caine Zulu
Ammunition (Quartermaster Bloomfield) Peter Vaughan Zulu Dawn
Saving the Colours (Melvill)

I don't know that the remaining sets depict anyone in particular

You also have a second Chad aka Stanley Baker as part of the Command Set and I'm sure other will follow as the series continues.

I think Conte makes some of the best figures in the market. I have a lot of his metal ACW sets from years past and his Alamo sets are excellent. What I don't get, is why he sometimes bases his personality figures on movie stars?:eek: I 'd rather buy figures based on the true likeness of the historical person than a movie star portraying that personality... This is another reason why I never bought any of his American Revolution range... I just couldn't get past the Mel Gibson figure...

This is a repeat of yours earlier and I'm sure your aware of the fact the he enter the Toy Soldier arena with figures and playsets based The Movie Zulu an other favorite movies of his and their stars. There's no doubt you agree that he's made and makes some of the finest figures on the market. I find what's unique about his basing some of his figures on the stars of the movies is that you can recreate scenes from the various movies featuring the stars he created as figures or scenes you wish had appeared in them. They can an have been featured in various dioramas not as the stars they depict which has added to their collect ability IMHO.

I find personally that I can "relate" to the figures as they are based on the movies that I have seen. (Zulu & Zulu Dawn) My first experience of the AZW was through these movies so I always picture the actors when I think of the AZW and make my dios.

Thanks guys, I had a few of them right, but some of his captions/descriptions confused this not up to snuff on Zulu guy!

PS, I like them just the way they are, I am a movie guy, so this works for me.
