Hi All,

I was asked by Richard Walker to create a survey to see what you the collectors were interested in for the pending Zulu War Releases from WBritains.

The Question is simply this: Do you prefer the figures in Matte or Glossy?

Thanks for your support and time.

All the best

Dave

Personally, I would not even consider the range if matte wasn't an option. But that's just my opinion!

I have plenty of glossy zulus and brits now so i'd like to see some matte ones now.

Hi There! Both Gloss and Matt are in developement as some of you already know. A special two figure set was already designed for ModelZone in the UK, there is the Collectors Club 2 figure Cristmas set and there is a single figure that was added to the Redcoats Classic series. The additional gloss figures will match these figures in color and style.
The Matt range will have an interesting spin as far as the action goes for the first wave of releases, and they are in the same style as the ACW, AWI and Napoleonic figures I have already done. Dave, our Matt range painter has already finished painting 8 of the Zulus and Ted, our Gloss range painter is painting the Classic style 24th Foot figures as this is written. I wish I could tell you more but you will have to wait for the flyer in November!
All the best! Ken Osen
...by the way we are still taking suggestions...

I voted for glossy. This just seems best to me in glossy.

Since this is my favorite historical subject I guess this would be a great place to cut my teeth on the forum. Ken, if you're looking for suggestions a royal artillery piece or a gatling gun with a naval crew would be great.

I wasn,t going to post my opinion on the matte or gloss issue as I don,t collect the zulu range but then I thought about it for a minute and realized that in up coming year all of the LTs posts will most likely be filled with photos of the new up coming britains zulu range figures, so I decided to go with a vote for the matte figures!!!:p

I voted for Matte simply because thats how all my Conte Collection{ like everything else I do} is matte.
The sculpts I have seen are superb.

fUbAr:)

I'm sure it goes without saying I've voted for both and my Aussie Cowboy hat's off as a salute to Richard Walker and Ken Osen for the time and effort being spent revising the series and their decision to bring it to us in both gloss and matte......The Lt.

This is looking to be a very anticipated range! I voted for glossy just because I like some diversification in my collection and that this era works well in gloss looking at figures produced in the past by various other manufacturers and Britains themselves. Although, I will need to see both styles up close before coming to a final decision on this. The only two ranges thus far, where I have adopted both styles in my collecting habits are Napoleonics and ACW. So much to collect...will the world ever run out of metal???

Voted both of course:).
suggestions?
- Besides a naval Gatling team an Army team would be cool as well. Perhaps something with oxen pulling a gun? Mountford has a kit of a Naval gun being pulled through the mud by oxen. It would be interesting to see something similar from WB.
- Mounted troopers dismounted (with or without their horses) and at least one casualty (horse and rider) after or during the fall. Perhaps with a little Durnfords Donga scenery to place them in.
-I don't know how other people feel about it but a lancer driving his lance through a zulu would be nice.
-Chelmsford and staff with equipment like telescopes.
-The teaparty suggestion also still stands:).
-Oh, and a Rocket battery.

Just make everything.

Right Plasmapulse gotta have some lancers. As good as the WWI lancers were these would be even more colorful.... in matte of course ( I hope).

Glossy is ahead!!! Perhaps there will be enough for all regardless of finish. But they do make a flat coat in spray and brush on:p

:D Hey McVampy I understand you have cases of "Testors'" Gloss Coat in your garage! Hee.hee, hee!!:D:D
O.C.

And I know where you keep your bag pipes. Got any deals on a good parlor set?
 If serious Ol" Blood Sucker, try googling "Lark in the Morning"for starters. And in the interim I will hit my other sources this weekend.
They are not as expensive as a full set of great Highland pipes, however the're not cheap either.
More to come
O.C.:)

I have seen their deals in the past:eek::eek:

The poll is closed and I think it shows us what WB hoped for isn't it? Both matte and glossy are the way to go.
