Being relatively new to FOV, I purchased the Fallschirmjager motorcycle with sidecar set last year sometime..It is out of the box, and I have touched up the uniforms and faces on the figures..All else has not changed. Does repainting any particular decrease the value or does it not matter to collectors..The figures are posed well, but the fleshtones are always ghost-like to me. I enhanced the fleshtone and uniform colors in a matte finish, as in the style that they come in..I'd appreciate any info that anyone may have..thanks

Kingtoot...

Its probably the age old question have I increased its value or decreased it. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here mate its all about personal taste. Some repaints make reasonable money some do not. I suppose its all down to how well it is painted and what someone else thinks its worth to them.

If your not selling it and its for you then you have the enjoyment of having it better suited to your taste. I don't think though you will have devalued it. I don't really know a lot about the resale market of FOV factory painted but, have seen some repaints go for a lot more than they were RRP

Thanks for the info - I think the paras came out pretty good, I teamed them up with some Ulrich Puchala fallschirmjagers (perfect scale together) and painted them all in Normandy camo pattern.. Now if I only had the space for a mini-dio...

sound good you should post some pics. There is always room for a 'mini' dio.

I agree with Mitch on this Kingtoot... how about some pictures of your work? There can never be too many pictures of dios, repaints, etc. IMO. It's always interesting to see what other collectors are doing.

I also think that it's really up to each individual collector as to whether a repaint might increase/decrease value of a certain item.

I have a coupla photos of them all, but they are too large in format and I can't figure out how to reduce them for posting..I'll keep trying

Go to image shack. Upload(very easy) There is a resize option right there. It will start an album for you. Then next to the pictures will be a series of dot-like icons. Click on the blue one. A larger pic will appear. to the right will be code for embeding the pic on a forum. Copy the code and paste here. Easy:confused:
sort of.

I tried and tried and tried, didn't work..I can send it to anyone interested, give me an email and I'll send it along..
