Alain Caton and other Sub Contractors are known to have supplied some "Mountford" parts....Seems Dave didnt actually make much by his own hand....on the Artillery range.
Looks like I might need to re make the Germans too.....sniff
The "Mountford" German Riders bear a worrying resembelance to the rather "Bland" figures produced by ESCI and some early 1970's Tamiya plastic figures, until 1984. They look like scaled up versions to me. Did Dave love sub contract EVERYTHING then?

This is one of the examples of the VERY "Poor" Quality treatment by the defunct Kaputnik N Z owners. Moulds RUINED and USELESS because they tried pouring Resinous Plastic into them..... IMG_2024-10-19-08-22-42-477.jpgIMG_2024-09-29-11-29-37-483.jpg
Did any of them know anything about making Toy Soldiers at all?????

The Major
The Major
There are a number of bad useless or even "rusty" (!!) Moulds such as this we found when we opened the crates from N Z last year. Everything "else" (yes EVERYTHING !) was stuffed into plastic food freezer bags inside broken plastic boxes. Max is "not amused" and a lettter winged its way to N Z, no reply (of course!)....Sniff Sniff Unhappy

I will on suffrance have to continue selling the "old stock" Metal crew figures at ths time, , but meanwhile create NEW Crew figures for the Mountford items. Once old N Z stocks are exhausted, I am going to withdraw the old figure castings and furnish the kits with NEW ones.
It seems a "lot" of the surviving Crew figures for "Mountford" are NOT the quality work from Alain Caton, rather the poor quality items made by the kaput guys. Some clearly come from the old Airfix Polythene Eight Army Set with modified Arms etc. Seen "worse" but these simply are not good enough and should be far better quality.
We wish to jettisson all former Fleurbaix scanned (very old!!!) Photos and replace with ones of what Maryse and I are offerring to sell to collectors in Toy Soldier Hobby world.View attachment 342884

Every single item has to have a fresh new "quality" Display Model to be photographed and used as "our own" material for sales assurrance and customer product QUALITY contentment.

Our MOUNTFORD "H.A.C" Crew in best ceremonial Dress at Hyde park. Primed and ready to assemble into our Display Model. Please understand, we NEVER recieved a single painted Display Model from New Zealand and the Simons. (Mr Kaputnik flogged all of them) .

My wife and Me do have photographic proof for all this. I take no happiness in having to reveal the sad past failures of FLEURBAIX Toy Soldiers. I have asked myself JUST HOW,,,, Did such a thing get to ever happen in the first place? Did pere gregg or Abram ever really have a know how of this Industry at all? or EVER really run a business successfully at all????
Large Mould for 1/32 Scale Horses also filled solid with rock hard shiny plastic substance....totaly impossible to remove clean or separate....ruined Mould which affects viability for a alrge number of Mounted Rider figures.
