You were questioning on whether or not to buy it, I told you, you would regret not buying it. I am glad you took my advice. And a boer supply wagon with navel personal I picked up at the Chicago show last time it was held at the old hotel on golf road
Deitz, It was a no-brainer for me. This set is quite scarce, so most people don’t even realize it existed when they see it for the first time — like stumbling on a unicorn in full dress uniform! Thank you for the valuable advice. We might just have to start another thread: “To Buy or Not to Buy” — a place to debate just how far forum members are willing to go (or pay!) or how much they paid for an offered or long-desired set. Thanks again for the great idea — you may have unleashed something dangerous! You were questioning on whether or not to buy it, I told you, you would regret not buying it. If I remember right we walked out of the room and talked about it for a bit and then we high tailed it back to the room.Deitz, It was a no-brainer for me. I mainly collect Zulu, I have all the Hz sets and many of the harder to find sets. I also have a few ACW, American Rev, Boer and a few other sets.
My Trophy grails are:
1. The Janissaries sets and
2. La Haye Sainte add on sets.
If anyone desires I can take close up pictures.
Brian

I always took "Holy Grail" sets to means the ones you most wanted but were never able to obtain. For me, for example, the ultimate Trophy Holy Grail is the WWI Motor Ambulance set (GWEQ81), which I have seen for sale once (I was outbid at the last second by a sniper) and never seen in person:Yes, Brian. Oh, I feel that in my soul! Watch out for those snipers! Your options are simple: either become the sniper, or when your grail appears, bid so high your wallet cries, but your future self high-fives you. Nice collection, I remember when we met and you had all the little legion Zulu series. Then I turned you on to the trophy Zulu range and I can attest that Brian has to have o e of the best Zulu war trophy collections out there. I think he has just about the full run. I won these with no box and always wondered what they were. I am thinking they were troops that ran the slave trade. Maybe one of you diehards can educate me on this ine
Thanks for the infoThis set appears to depict the French Tirailleurs Sénégalais, a colonial infantry regiment composed primarily of West African soldiers who served under French command. These troops were active from the late 19th century into the mid-20th century and participated in multiple campaigns across Africa and Asia.
The white tropical uniforms with red fezzes match period depictions from the late 1800s to early 1900s, and these particular figures may represent the regiment as they appeared during the Boxer Rebellion in China (circa 1900–1901)—a rare and fascinating subject.
These figures are mounted on oval bases, indicating early production by Trophy Miniatures, likely before the adoption of the signature “red box” packaging. The exact set number is currently unknown, but it may be identified upon my further catalog research.
A scarce and historically rich set—a great find, Hawkeye.
I have never seen that set before. Well doneHope about some British light cavalry at waterloo
