Deitz, It was a no-brainer for me. This set is quite scarce, so most people don’t even realize it existed when they see it for the first time — like stumbling on a unicorn in full dress uniform! Thank you for the valuable advice. We might just have to start another thread: “To Buy or Not to Buy” — a place to debate just how far forum members are willing to go (or pay!) or how much they paid for an offered or long-desired set. Thanks again for the great idea — you may have unleashed something dangerous!

I mainly collect Zulu, I have all the Hz sets and many of the harder to find sets. I also have a few ACW, American Rev, Boer and a few other sets.

My Trophy grails are:
1. The Janissaries sets and
2. La Haye Sainte add on sets.

I always took "Holy Grail" sets to means the ones you most wanted but were never able to obtain. For me, for example, the ultimate Trophy Holy Grail is the WWI Motor Ambulance set (GWEQ81), which I have seen for sale once (I was outbid at the last second by a sniper) and never seen in person:

That auction taught me that very lesson. If something appears that I truly have to have I throw up an insanely high bid with about 10 seconds to go and hope no one else had the same approach.

Nice collection, I remember when we met and you had all the little legion Zulu series. Then I turned you on to the trophy Zulu range and I can attest that Brian has to have o e of the best Zulu war trophy collections out there. I think he has just about the full run. Am I close Brian
