I thought it was an entertaining week. And you never know what you are going to get from year to year. Who would have thought that the pathetic Florida St. team from last year could beat Bama? Or that Arch Manning would look so awful. A lot of bad but inevitable changes have been made to college football but is still more entertaining to me than any other sport.

I respect your opinion and to each their own.

From an athletic and sport’s perspective it is great but none of it is actually affiliated with anything having to do with college.

It always has been semi-professional. Now they just acknowledge it. The SEC dominance of the last couple of decades was predicated on rewarding players with money under the table and having no academic standards. At least now there is a level playing field. The rivalries and regional flavor of the game make it more interesting to me than professional sports.

Rivalries are great so long as they involve some sort of impassioned reason for the student athletes attending a school, i.e. academic reputation, post graduate earning potential, alumni, location etc.

In my opinion, “this school or that school offered me more money to go here” is not meaningful when it comes to regional flavor.

Forgot to put in here, WTF on the spitting by the Gator that basically cost them the game. Why is all of a sudden spitting on an opponent ok. First he NFL (btw no suspension................). This should not be tolerated, I don't care if you have remorse or if provoked, or whatever, it is just not a normal reaction and should never happen. Disgusting and it disgusts me.

People are out of control IMO.

It's no secret but there have been some shameless calls by the various conference refs that benefit those teams in the playoff contention. Ohio State got a crucial roughing the passer the call after an incomplete third down pass. The defender had pulled up and barely touched him. They go on to score a TD in a close game.

Demanded $4M in NIL the day before spring practice game, about double what he was contracted for. Tenn told him to take a hike and he wound up at UCLA for $1.2M, sometimes there is justice. UCLA is now is now 0-4 and fired their coach. LOL

The NCAA needs a rule change to eliminate the slow motion substitutions by the defense that allows the play clock to run out before the refs allow the offense to snap the ball. There also needs to be a rule change that doesn't give the benefit of the doubt to the call on the field after a fumble because the refs are instructed to let the fumble play out on the field instead of blowing the whistle. That creates a presumption of a fumble even if the ref thought the player was down.

The only thing USC football is known for now is the killer OJ Simpson and having to cheat 20 years ago to be a competitive program. Pathetic. Notre Dame hasn’t been in the national hunt for ages.

The college football numbers speak for themselves. USC has been dominant. An elite program with the most Heisman trophies. 8-2 over Georgia. More national championships than Georgia 11-4. Kirby is a dirty coach running an out of control program. The Rams drafted Bennett off the Georgia championship team. Never played a snap. Went straight into rehab. Carson Beck left a sinking ship for Miami. Good move.
