Actually, Panzer Ace said they don’t mix and they don’t. I had some Gunn Viet Minh which I tried to use with FL VC as background and it just didn’t work. I eventually sold the TG figures.I think as a typical rule, K&C, Thomas Gunn, and Collectors Showcase figures all tend to display well together while First Legion, JJD, War Park, and W. Britain all tend to display well together.
While all the above manufacturers market their figures as being “1/30 scale,” K&C, TGM, and TCS figures are all clearly larger than true 1/30 scale, likely closer to 1/29 or 1/28 scale. FL, JJD, WB, and War Park figures are largely true 1/30 scale with some slight variation.
I have no idea why the scale discrepancies exist between the different manufacturers, but it’s arguably the most annoying aspect of this hobby for me, lol, as I wind up with almost parallel collections.
However, as Panzer Ace noted, you can mix the differently scaled figures in a large setup without the size differences being so visible.

Great post. No, First Legion do not go well with the 'Others'.
Aww the good old days of 'Scale Discussions'
I do miss the Old Names
Traditionally Toy Soldiers were measured from Feet to Eye level, i.e. excluding base height, headwear etc. Subsequently some Manufacturers, and Collectors, suggested the overall height was the 'correct' measurement method. In any case the actual figure heights, and scales, of all the different TS Ranges were never consistent, even in the same Company. For example First Legion Napoleonic figures were taller than their so called 'True 1:30 Scale' WW2 figures, which many of the 'converted' failed to notice or at least acknowledge.
We are now left with a hodgepodge of various '1:30 Scale' figure heights, differences in detail, painting styles, as well as personal preferences based on opinions, bias etc. It all adds to the hobby IMO.
