Showcasing my newest acquisition from Thomas Gunn’s Wooden Warbirds series - their beautiful Messerschmitt BF-110C 😎

The model represents a BF-110C flown by Hauptman Heinz Nacke that was part of the 6th Staffeln of Zerstörergeschwader 76 (6./ZG 76) when stationed at Abbeville, France, in August 1940. My display uses K&C Luftwaffe figures with Thomas Gunn diorama accessories.

If the wing tanks seem a little unusual, they are accurate representations of Luftwaffe 900 liter drop tanks. Those were rarely used, but there is photographic evidence of ZG 76 BF-110s equipped with those tanks (see period photo below).

Delivered on Christmas Eve, this aircraft model was technically my toy soldier Christmas present this year 😊

Awesome aircraft. Color scheme looks great. The detailing of the cockpit is equally impressive. Wonderful Christmas present, T-Man

Great looking War Bird model and a nice addition to your collection Tristan. Congratulations and I'm sure this made your Christmas very happy.

T man that is one amazing Christmas present. You, or Santa, obviously thought you had been good this year, so well done

Happy New Year and thank you all for the kind comments on my display 😃

My BF-110 found its current resting place as part of a coffee table display next to my Thomas Gunn Bristol Blenheim Mk. IVF heavy fighter model.

It’s a suitable pairing of two aircraft types with similar purposes from the Battle of Britain period of the war 😎

Coffee table battlefield, I love it!

In addition to an impressive display of aircraft, I love your teak furniture! (y)
Thanks Rob! I’ve long been a fan of the Danish Modern and Mid-Century modern teak furniture, literally growing up with them at my grandparent’s and parent’s homes. While the trend is technically back in style, it’s a style that never really went away for me, lol! My pieces are all vintage, too!

That's funny, me too, for many years. In fact, as I look at the fabric of your couch, I have the matching chairs in my office. 😄 Had them reupholstered many years ago as they were pretty worn.
Great taste!
