N.F.L. 24-25 Season (2 Viewers)

It makes no sense to knock schedules, whether it’s the 2025 Pats, 1999 Rams or anyone else. You can only play whoever is on your schedule. Moreover, there are no style points given in football.
Agreed 100%...I'm not knocking their schedule...I'm saying the same thing you are...

The Rams own these cold weather games. It can't get cold enough for them. LOL. There will be no joy in the igloos tonight.

"Let's leave Chicago to the Eskimos
That town's a little bit too rugged"

I am not going to disparage any other teams to make myself feel better because “my team” lost.

The four remaining teams deserve to be in the conference championships.

I wish George and Doug the best going forward.
Thanks Jason, I literally cannot believe the Patriots are in the AFCCG, it's bizarro world level crazy to think it, but it's true.

Wow.

Couple of observations, the Pats will benefit from Nix being out for the Broncos, however, you still have to travel and play the game. Also, can't have that many turnovers (3)/missed opportunities and normally win (The Texans were worse at 5 turnovers!). Back up or not, you have to play the game, but I am picking the Patriots.

Onto the NFC, the Rams won it, huge interceptions when it mattered, kind of bend but do not break defense. How they didn't defend the literal hail mary at the end of regulation is beyond me, there is no way that should have been a completion in the least. That said, playing in Seattle is going to be a high road to climb, Rams need their full A game on offense. If they can get scoring, I like their chances. I am pulling for the Rams, as not a Seattle fan, that said Seattle could prove too much the way they are playing. I am picking the Rams.

TD

Predictions for what they are worth:

A. Broncos - the Bills are very banged up, think it will be tough to win out in Denver, it has been done for sure, but smart money this year is on Denver
B. Patriots - I think this could be a toss up on paper, but...... New England at night which has been the graveyard of many AFC foes, just ask Big Ben, also CJ didn't look comfortable at all vs Steelers, looked very out of character and it didn't improve a whole lot, he has to do a 180. And may have some key scratches on Texans side.
C. Seahawks - I want the 49ers to win, just not sure they can do it in Seattle and without Kittle et al. Seems a tall order.
D. Rams - this is more of an emotional pick as I am not a Bears fan (I think the Coach should take a lesson in class from Tomlin, Harbaugh and others). My fear is the cold on the Rams and the odd way when the Bears are not put away early, they hang, hang and somehow win.

I have to admit, the playoffs have been way more entertaining then the entire season, maybe it is always that way but I just thought the regular weekly product was awful.
Tom
Well, hate to gloat , I went 4 for 4! (Not that it was that difficult in the end)

Tom

The Seattle game is nightmare for a 49er fan, trying to choose from rivals.

As I’ve said, NE is going to the SB.

The Rams won last night despite Stafford having a mediocre game and McVay calling one his worst games as a coach. He basically put the entire game on Stafford and his D instead of running the ball against one of the worst rush defenses in the league in poor weather. The Rams are very lucky to get out of there with a win. They can play with Seattle. They beat them once and should have beat them a second time but they are going to have to up their game. The way to beat Seattle is stop their run game and make Darnold win it with his arm. He is a turnover machine when pressed.

On the Pats game, Stroud looks like a guy who has banked his money and is no longer interested. One of the worst, if not the worst, QB performances in playoff history. I give the Pats D credit, but Stroud was awful. He should have been benched at halftime and cut from the team after the game. The Texans are likely stuck with him due to his huge salary but he should be toast. No one else is dumb enough to trade for him, though.

Coach Hardo out in Buffalo.

Harbaugh is kicking himself that he did not wait, imagine him in Buffalo, thank God.

Regarding the championship games; the only way the Patriots lose is if Denver's defense scores a defensive touchdown and also causes a couple of turnovers that give their offense a short field. I have been less than impressed with Maye this post season, his pocket awareness/ball security concern me.

Buffalo marched up and down the field on the Denver defense and Allen has no WR's, they ran the ball and he carved them up with his tight ends, Maye is going to have to be dialed in for this game, NO turnovers, be smart.

The Rams will find a way to beat Seattle, namely Darnold, he can turn into a pumpkin at the drop of a hat.

Stroud looked rattled, unaware and head somewhere else against the Steelers, it worsened against the Patriots!

That Caleb Williams TD throw to tie the game would have gone down in playoff history had they won the game. It was a miraculous play. He drops back from the 14-yard line to the 40 and launches the ball while falling backward. The ball goes 50 yards. It took a long time to get to the receiver. Any Ram secondary defender had plenty of time to get there but he was wide open. In fact, Durant appeared to be moving away from the receiver back toward the empty space of the playing field. I did see an angle where it appeared Kmet shoved him pretty hard as the ball is coming. If so, it should have been offensive PI but if the refs had called that there would have been a riot.

He has made some amazing throws this year, some that defy belief. The one yesterday is probably at the top.

Per ESPN Research: only four teams (Super Bowl era) have won a playoff game in six consecutive seasons:

1991-1996 Cowboys (Won 3 Super Bowls)
2011-2018 Patriots (Won 3 Super Bowls)
2018-2024 Chiefs (Won 3 Super Bowls)
2020-2025 Bills (did not play in a single Super Bowl)

IMO the Bills are just snake bit as a franchise going back to the Jim Kelly Marv Levy years. Just Wow.

I'm shocked the Steelers aren't on that list, makes no sense to me.

Rumor has it the Bills are looking at Belichick......oh sorry, Belicheat, as their next HC.

Please God, make this happen.

Firing Coach Hardo was a knee jerk reaction, whoever they hire, they better get it right or else.

Have to give the Boston sports media credit; all day today on talk radio and tonight on the TV talk shows they are claiming the sky is falling/Sean Payton will dial up something/Denver is a tough place to play with the altitude/Stiffam is capable of playing the game of his life and is a very, very good back up.

Huh?

In a league where a number of teams have literal stiffs as STARTING QB's, how is this guy still a career long back up; he hasn't thrown a pass in an NFL game in TWO years...........................Boston sports media; the fellowship of the miserable.

If Denver has a PIC 6 or a strip sack returned for a TD, runs a punt or a kick off back for a TD and their defense causes a turnover or two giving their offense the ball inside the red zone, they have a shot at winning.

The league is rigged as we all know; does the NFL really want Denver limping to the SB getting rolled by either the Rams or Seattle, the dream match up is Patriots/Rams, the two front runners for MVP going head to head.

I'd be stunned if the league lets the Donkos get to the Super Bowl.

Anything can happen, so we'll see how things shake out, it's right there for the taking, NO dumb turnovers or special teams meltdowns please.

Bills owner Terry Pegula said his decision to bring in a new coach was "based on the results of our game in Denver."...................talk about a clueless owner.

I've had my issues with Kraft, but he realized one year in hiring Mayo was a mistake, so he fired him and brought in Vrabel..............or is it "First round Vrabel".........................the Bills are about to go back into the NFL wilderness for another 20 years, Daboll? Seriously?

They're screwed.
