Things that I really like (7 Viewers)

I haven't watched a single second of the Olympics but it's great that our woke athletes are choking. The US is getting crushed by small countries like Norway. At least our hockey teams might win out against the even more woke teams.

You're underestimating a large segment of the voting population; young males, specifically 20 to 28 year old males, they are not fans of the far left Democrat agenda, specifically morons like her that are socialists, they are not fans.

If Newsom/AOC win in 2028, this country is done, finished, over.
Exactly, just when we dodged the bullet with Kamala along comes AOC. How have we come to this?

Don't underestimate her. Most Americans who vote are on the same intellectual level. I'm guessing that a Newsom-AOC ticket has a 60-40 chance to win the next election against a Vance-Rubio ticket. Merit no longer matters. We are living in the age of Idiocracy. Survival of the dumbest.
Newsom has single handedly destroyed CA, handing him the keys to the USA would be a disaster.

The dog chasing the skiers is the only clip of the Olympics that I've watched.
I started watching it last week but lost interest; how many times can you see someone ski/snowboard down a hill, blow down a track in a bobsled, prance around on the ice or slide a huge round brick down the ice while others try to slow it down with a broom.

See, this is what is wrong with our political system. Nobody in their right mind or with a straight face should say she is a positive. There are too many of them on both sides of the aisle. The Texas Senate race is beyond mind boggling, how Cornyn could lose this one, but he probably will and IMO, the options to win are not great either way.

This from a FB page I am a member of, absolutely nails it IMO;

AOC is a manufactured politician. Her creators (an ultra-left-wing PAC called "Brand New Congress") put out a LITERAL casting call looking for someone they could run for office that checked all the right boxes, and AOC checked a long list of them. She’s a leftist and a “Female Person of Color”. She’s young and reasonably attractive. She’s smart but not smart enough to actually think for herself. Ambitious, but lacking any moral center and a slacker without any major life accomplishments.

All of these attributes make her the perfect puppet, completely dependent on her handlers for her power. Perhaps most importantly, she’s arrogant enough to think she’s actually in charge, a delusion which makes her the perfect useful idiot. A puppet who will readily follow her handler's “suggestions” all the while thinking they’re her own ideas. If anyone believes that AOC would have ever run for office on her own - let alone been able to be elected - they are not looking behind the curtain.

Her NGO handlers (who are a NGO front organization for deeply powerful NWO interests) helped invent her new persona (from slacker bartender to progressive hero) and have engineered her political career every step of the way. They created her. They own her. And she does exactly what they “advise” her to do.

By the way, as a child and young adult she went by the name Sandy Ocasio. She started to use Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (her Puerto Rican grandmother’s name) when applying for a NYC small business grant that was only open to “minorities”. Now it’s become a central part of her manufactured image. There’s an old saying – “It pays to be stupid. Just not very much”.

In Sandy Ocasio's case, it pays handsomely.

Lets face it she's bat-crap bonkers, but has loads of rich entitled leftist loons backing her.......why they don't simply emigrate to Russia/China/North Korea is beyond me!

George, Julie… you may be getting a nice refund… I hope you do… The Supreme Court said that Trump‘s tariffs are illegal… good luck

Yes, the economic enemies of the US like China and Canada are rejoicing. They can continue to rip us off in trade with their own tariffs as they have done for decades. I don't understand the mindset of hating Trump more than the adversaries of the US. The propaganda has been amazingly effective.

I’m guessing you’re not in an import business… like the many Americans that suffered tremendously with the tariffs… many just closing up shop and losing everything… I bet they have a mindset…

None of what you suggested has happened. How many Americans suffer when they are subject to tariffs imposed by most of the rest of the world on us? Resulting in closed markets to US goods. In return, we pay for the national defense of much of the world and they stick it to us in trade. They must be laughing their backsides off. Europe can only afford socialized health care and many other benefits because the US pays for the privilege of defending them. We pay billions every year to do so. They pay almost nothing. That has gone on since the end of WWII with no end in sight. Of course, this has nothing to do with tariffs. Tariffs were actually a tool used by Democrats prior to Trump. Now they oppose them because it has everything to do with Trump. Some people hate him so much, they oppose anything he does. If he is for tariffs, they are against them no matter the merits. If he wants to deport illegal alien criminals, they want them to stay. Someone will eventually write a great book on how the endless propaganda has radicalized so many people to that level.

Not happening, what's done is done, will see how things go moving forward per my accountant.
well...
maybe your accountant has a direct hot line to Congress...
and is more privileged than every news source reporting on this today...
but it is definitely being considered as an option...

Doug...I'm not trying to argue with you...I want to keep this civil...but yes...it's true...many business's have closed due to tariffs...and/or altered their business model and laid off employees...but you seem to want to focus on “Trump haters” causing these problems...and while I do think he is a boofus...for the record...I’m an Independent that leans left...I’m really tired of the often used phrase “left wing maniacal liberal radicals” by so many posters on here...I actually do like a few things Trump does...but felt this was off the charts unfair to the American consumers...I’m more focused on affordability...and these tariffs...which are nothing more than a tax on Americans...surely you will at least honestly admit that almost everything you buy now has gone up...and I don’t know where you get your news...but what I’m saying about business’s closing is easily proven with just a little research...”The American Dream” of running a small business that relies on imports is being crushed...especially small enterprises due to the financial strain of paying tariffs on imported materials...and by cutting the job market on employees due to increased costs and financial strains by tariffs...business’s that could not absorb the higher cost of imports were forced to raise their prices which effects consumers...meaning you and me...by paying more...surely you see this in your daily life...

As far as the US paying to defend all of the world...are you aware that the US is in arrears to the UN to the tune of $4.5 billion in unpaid dues for peace keeping operations? The US didn’t pay anything in 2025...just recently the US paid a paltry $160 million...a fraction of what we owe...The UN officials have said 95% of the arrears of the UN’s regular budget is from the US...with all that said...Trump has found money...probably from tariffs...and pledged to his newly formed Board of Peace $10 billion...where there are plans on the Gaza for luxury hotels...skyscrapers and "free market development"...just what the Palestinians were hoping for I bet...you can fact check me on this too...it's easy to find

How many businesses had to close due to the disastrous COVID shutdown policy? An economic catastrophe. There was record inflation under Biden when he flooded the country with government handouts while shutting down the supply chain resulting in hyperinflation. The impact of tariffs has been minimal by comparison. Tariffs are a traditional tool of the Democrats. There are legitimate pros and cons to tariffs depending on what type of business that you are in. Some benefit and others do not. The opposition to tariffs in this instance is driven by politics rather than economics. It goes like this, if Trump is for it, many people are against it for that reason. It doesn't matter to them whether the underlying policy is good for the country.

Trump has already countered with a "10% across the board worldwide tariff"; again, there are many moving parts to this, it's far from over/a done deal.

Where the bleep on earth does that farce of organization the UN "keep the peace'???? Not one more dime should the U.S. give to that band of clowns and grifters! The U.S. has provided the majority of the funding for that scam outfit since its inception. Donate the building to that s-head mayor Mamdani so he can house all of his sanctuary "immigrants" in it!
