K&C response to CS statements (1 Viewer)

If you guys want to give Andy a break there is always Conte to go after for not delivering on time. That is always good for a bunch of posts.:D;)

Hey Guys. You All Sound Like A Bunch Of Whiny Democrats. Step Back And Look At All The Wonderful Choice We Have, The Beautiful Products Offered And Remember That It Was Only A Few Years Ago That There Was Not A Lot Of Product Around. The Good Thing Then Was That We Could Buy Everything And Now We Can't. And Maybe That Is One Of The Underlying Points That Have People On Edge Along With Where Do You Put It All. Anyhow You All Should Think The Glass Is Half Full And Enjoy. As For Kc Keep Plugging Away And See If You Can Conjure Up A Jagdtiger Thanks

Well it does intrigue me as to why it is K and C alone who seem to evoke this response. No-one crosses swords over Britains Trophy, Figarti, Frontline or Conte etc. Just K and C. There is seldom any middle ground. I just don't get it. I have purchased K and C for over 10 years along with many other makes of toy soldiers.

I have wondered the same thing for the past 9 years I have been buying KC products- to me, this is the same story, different day, month, etc. I can still recall arguments people used to get into at shows, shops, etc over the first Arnhem sets, Yanks, etc. This whole issue just blows my mind- I really didn't think on it until this morning but yeah, I can clearly recall these same issues popping up amongst collectors back in 99-00.

"This LCVP isn't to scale", etc, etc

I really wasn't sure what was the reason for it then. I think today, we have a lot of "regulars" here on the forum who post about this or that regarding KC and we fail to put it in perspective- this forum is a microcosm of the collecting population. So a few folks here on this forum have a beef on the products- fine- it isn't in any shape or form going to change my buying habits- nor, given KC's explosive growth, do I believe it is even remotely affecting them negatively. I think, as Andy has said several times, especially in his Webcasts on KCUKTV, that the collector is more discerning today than before. I never even thought about most of the things a lot of my fellow collectors consider.

Bottom line- I love my KC collection- it is an enjoyable part of the sum of the parts of my toy soldier collection. If I make a decision to pass on a figure, vehicle, or set, it really has nothing to do with some sort of historical innaccuracy but more that it just doesn't "fit" my collection.

I really find it a shame that the only time Andy comes on board is to feel like he has to defend his product- at this rate, we may not only have lost one of the giants of the industry, the TF management may decide to pull the plug on this forum......definately not an outcome I look forward to.

Chris, funny you should say that as I was thinking the same thing.

Try to picture Shannon and Pete flying halfway around the world, getting settled in and saying "Gee, lets check in on the forum to see what the guys are up to" and WHAM, they get to see and read all of this nonsense that has been going on since they left.

Kind of like if when you were a kid your parents went away for a week and left you, the eldest child,in charge and returned home to find the house looking like a tornado ripped through it; great, just great.

I am sure they are just thrilled about all of this.

I also have to agree with Damian, as a newcomer to the forum I have often wondered the same thing.

For a company that is so great, pioneers, respected, etc.... there sure does seem to be a lot of negativity amongst the collectors.

I mentioned in another thread the same thing.

I will say this though, not matter what business you are in bad news always travels faster than good news, someone will ALWAYS take a pop at you and as a business owner this is something that has to be expected. On the other hand it is my belief that the customer is not always right !!!

That said I am now off to the Britains thread where I can relax and shed my tin helmet :D

Hey guys just make sure you don't leave any alcohol in the fridge. I remember having a party at my parents house when they were out of town and we partied then we cleaned the house spotless. Parents show up and find a fridge full of alcohol. Almost got away with it. :(:)

My Lord General apparently they have nothing better to do with there time and if we ignore them maybe they'll go away with any luck and please let's leave Conte and others out of this mess......The Lt.

I sometimes feel that I have been put on this earth to defend the underdog versus the MAMMOTH of any given industry.. I am anti-Walmart because of their squashing of all small local businesses in their chosen store territory and their bully mentality against all citizens and townships that would oppose their forcing a store into a community..I sometimes am of the opinion , real or imagined, that K/C is that behemoth. They have earned the mantle of being the best at what they do. Do they goof once in a great while, over research and vehicle execution? Yeah, but they hit so many product homeruns, that they far than make up , for the error...I worry that their size and market share, might be used to overwhelm their competitors, by "hook or crook". This is the K/C thread and rightly so, should be made up of majority pro K/C remarks. This matter is more of a moral dilemma for me. I am by nature anti-monopoly and thus, these simultaneous product release announcements between the " big guy " and his much smaller competitors gives me pause..Michael

I cite this as an example of a fair and balanced post. Not ****ing K&C and not shouting down supporters either. It is possible to make points in a polite and open minded way such as this.

Doug, it would be my pleasure to meet you and share a drink or two with you:)

I have a complaint about Trophy: I got outbid yesterday on one of their wonderful camels!:(:D

Too bad about that. What did they go for in the end? There were three of them on ebay

Hey BF- you are gonna want to get out of that habit- Damian is kind of a crackpot- for every statement he makes that is on the mark, he has 50 or more that are in another hemisphere. I think he used to play rubgy and was a one man team by himself..... I dunno- just don't let yourself become associated with him- he is bad news.

there Damian- was that "honest" enough for ya?? :D:D:D

I think one went for $110, another for $130 or so. It shows that Clive got a real good deal with the Camels he purchased from that auction house last year.

Well you know Chris I did play tighthead prop. So a bit too many knocks on the head I am afraid

:D:D:D Your aces in my book brother!!!

I was interviewing students at Penn State on Friday and ran into a current employee of my firm who was a girls rugger at PSU- I was stunned- she was very attractive- clearly the women must be using some kind of different rules!! :p

Girls rugby like girls boxing. I am sorry I just don't get it. Girls soccer is great as is girls beach volley ball especially the Brazilian team. For Oz the Aussie women's beach volley ball team is not too bad either.

Reminds me of my youth when me and my buddy used to undercut a Walmart (global branch) here in Singapore. We used to change barcodes/price tags. So when we paid it was drastically cheap. The company loses so much, they close shop and never returned again. That teaches them. The switching was wildly successful, as many cashiers due to their nature work like robots and didnt stop to think how come a remote helicopter costs $5 sing. Thinking back however, I do hope nobody paid $300 for a bar of chocolate!

Nasir, that doesn,t sound like a prank, but more like stealing!

You have my sympathy! No matter what you produce there always seems to be some unhappy element. Too many Tigers, not enough Tigers, I missed the winter Tiger, I'm tired of the winter etc. Thanks for producing great figures that cover a wide range of topics (which of course leads to overlap with other manufactures). I just received my first "trial" Russian figure today and it is a great looking piece:cool:, I will be adding that group to my Nap collection:). While I respect other individuals rights to express themselves I beleive I will continue to adhere to the policy if you don't have anything nice to say, (or cannot express yourself in a pleasent manner) don't say anything at all.

I think the crowd likes to see the little guy get some wins but that doesn't mean the big guy is always fighting dirty.

I see this forum as no different to the others I frequent except for the fact that the company owners are far more accessable here, which is of course a two edged sword situation.

On most diecast aircraft forums Corgi are always getting the majority of negative comments. This is mainly because more people have a stakeholding in that company as it dominates the diecast model airplane market. And as most people collect Corgi they don't want to see Corgi make errors or unsaleable molds. It's that simple folks.
