Hahaha - just kidding :p

I know several of you have hopped on this thread - ready to go  at me.

Shannon - Brad - relax.....;)

Actually - I wanted to talk about - Old retired K&C Ranges and who has what and see if anyone wanted to share photos of them - like Vietnam, Old Glossy - stuff like that?

I will post some of my OLD ROMANS up soon. :D

Ron

Ron,

We love you man :)

Actually, over in the Vintage/Traditional section, there is a thread about K & C glossy, which Louis and I have posted on (but not lately). However, I can certainly put some of my recent glossy acquisitions here.

My K&C Waterloo Chess set arrived - my wife says it looks great, but I won't find out until Father's day. Once Father's day rolls around, I will take some shots of the Chess Set, along with my glossy K&C Napoleonics (assuming Brad and I get together, I will be able to provide shots of all but three) and my glossy WWII shelf, Warbird Display, North West Frontier Diorama and Zulu War Diorama, which cover all but about 15 of the glossy figures K&C ever produced (Larry Lo and Hans Hedrich have the other 15 figures - maybe we can get them to post some shots).

When I return from vacation I will post photos of Vietnam Sets, Firebase, Huey and M113's.

Louis,

How do I get some information on the Waterloo chess set you just referenced? Thanks.

There's too many Brads on this forum now. I'm invoking executive privilege and demanding that you all change your name :D (except for me of course).

Do you have one of these sets? Only 100 were made.

Here's aquote from the book:

"By June, 1991 Andy had released a Napoleonic Waterloo Chess Set. The Chess set was a limited edition of 100, and came with an attractive certificate signed by Andy. Andy mentions it in his November 1993 dealer dispatch under deletions, indicating that it was completely sold out at the time. The set included the following 90mm glossy figures, mounted on hollow elevated metal bases with cobblestone tops, and gold wreaths over blue sides: The British king is the Duke of Wellington, the French King is Napoleon. The British Queen is an attractive (rather busty) lady in a low cut red gown with white trim, white gloves and a tiara, the French Queen is Josephine, similarly attired in a (rather low cut) light blue and pink gown, pink gloves, and a tiara. The rooks for either side are drummers from the same regiment as the pawns. The British knight and Bishop are a sergeant and officer of the same regiment of foot guards as the pawns. The French knight is a dismounted Polish Lancer of the Imperial Guard, while the French bishop is a dismounted Dragoon. The British pawns are guards (Coldstream?) grenadiers in the process of grounding their muskets, the French pawns are standing Old Guard Grenadiers. The set originally retailed for $512."

It seems that I have said "King and Country is Great" too many times on forum for some people. This was a little humor for Shannon & Brad.

Although - personally I .....wait - I promised not to start that again ;)

How are you?
