Just wondering...what is your favorite K&C Napoleonic set. I have to say for me, its a tie between the Kings German Legion and the 71st......they are stunning...............................;)

I like them all!!! I just wish they were 54mm like the alamo and crusaders so they would go with the rest of my napoleonics.
I like the more animated action poses like the highlanders fending off cavalry and the scotts and new french grenadiers. I also like the 71st figures, I think the british figures all look real nice, not that I like the british more then the french but I think the british were better done over all then the french, They seem to be more animated and a lot of the french were del prado sculpts redone as K&C but the new french are looking good and I should be picking them up monday!
I hope the rumor of black deaths head brunswickers is true, This is a set that i,ve been tring to get some one to make for a while and I,m sure that andy would do the best job of it. Frontline makes some but they just don,t do it for me, the horse hair shakos and scull and bones just don,t look right. If andy did some with some great action poses and there cool uniforms I think they would be one of his best selling napoleonics. How about it Andy!!!?

They will be excellent...although I haven't heard any rumors. What runors have you heard. You are rigt Del Prado remakes ARE A BIG TURN OFF AS WELL AS REPAINTS!!! With the high standard of K&C I would expect more. I think other companies have caught on to the uality theme and are catching up...THE BIG QUESTION WILL DETERMINE THE WINNER....VARIETY AND FRESH CREATIVITY.....

For me its the Blackwatch figures, with all the different poses they make

a great display. Most of my napoleonic stuff is glossy from other

companys ,so I guess it makes choosing a fav K and C set a bit easier.

The new RHA set looks like the next on my napoleonic hit list, and the last of

the greys I dont have.

Me too; recently I receive this 4 from treefrogtreasures.com :

and incomprehensibly, the bagpiper is bigger than the other Blackwatch !!!

NA082 and 122 to 124. Now, I'm waiting for a horse without a saddle.

Lots of great choices available. Very exciting rumor about the Brunswickers. That could be a really nice little series like the KGL figures. This has to be my current favorite Nap set.

Hands down it's the Cuirassiers, the classic French heavy cavalry; would love to see Life Guards and Polish Lancers.............

Welcome back to the fold Pierre

Thanks Joe.

Despite it has nothing to do with K&C, I will take advantage of this post to let you know that I'm more and more interested in the Zulu War. I received today Zulu War 1879 - Twilight of a warrior nation and Rorke's Drift 1879 -'Pinned like rats in a hole' both by Ian Knight (and Ian Castle for Twilight of a warrior nation) from Osprey Publishing. Great books. After reading them, no doubts that I will appreciate more (if possible) all your posts in respect of the Zulu War.

Morning Rob,

I see from some of your other posts that you have seen the light and will be ditching the green tanks for a more colourful period of collecting :D. I know that this set has been on your list for a while, so whats keeping you? If you need anymore helpful advice, feel free to ask :D

Cheers my friend i appreciate your offer:D.The only thing stopping me is that little square shaped bit of plastic that screams when i take it out of my pocket!.They are indeed so much more colourful than my normal purchases, you got to love those redcoats and the blue and white of Bonney's boys.I also really like that British artillery set, fantastic model, especially the guy stood up in the saddle.

As soon as i sell a kidney and come up with more cash i'll drop you a line for advice Jeff;)

Cheers

Rob

WHAT???? CC on a Naps thread??? :D:D

Bar none, that SL set is without a doubt a work of art. Albeit, I won't be getting one but looking back at KC's offerings over the past decade, this is easily in the top 10.

6/5 STARS!!

You have some pretty interesting variables converging- the pomp, glitter and romance of the Napoleonic age coupled with the SL moniker makes for one really really super collectible.

So.........perhaps some day there will be an Eagle flying high over Caesar's head in his own SL version of this set:p:p........................

I don't think a SL version of some of the WW2 sets would replicate the beauty of this set- for the most part, 20th Century uniforms were really functional and utilitarian. Nap wasn't having any of that- it's like the editors of GQ and Guns and Ammo got together and came up with a set of toy soldiers.:)

Except for the hats, no GQ editor would have ever let some of the NAP hat designs get by;):D

Here it is for everyone to enjoy !

Since the strictly limited piece hasn't shipped yet, my favorite multiple set would be NA087. The Sgt. Ewart set is so nice. My favorite unit would probably be the Highlanders at this point. Great poses! It contains my favorite single figure in this range, NA052 the attacking drummer.

Naps rule! Especially the British ones! :D
