Rob
Hey Rob
I grabbed that set myself , I dont collect D day stuff but I reckon thats
quite a unique set even as a stand alone [a bit like iwo flag raising]
I,m not sure what the boss will say when its hanging in the lounge.
Hi Rob,
I thought i'd have problems explaining them away just in my office!.I agree with you that it really is a unique set and they always look good hanging over the dio's at the London shows.Any chance this set may tempt you into D Day stuff Rob?
Rob
It never takes much arm twisting does it, I do also have the tommy patrol
[the set that got me buying K and C , I reckon] If we see some more Brits
I,d be sorely tempted , Fiscal restraint is the name of the game.
It will be interesting to see what comes out at chicago show time .
Yes i agree mate,in the old days i was much more footloose with my spending, these days i think a lot more before purchasing.(but not still not enough my wife says!).Would love some more Tommies for Normandy.
Rob
As much as I enjoy seeing all the new stuff coming out
I think its good to be able to take a step back , it has made
me focus on what I realy like in this hobby .
So in a collecting sence i,ve almost come full circle , to what I liked when I had a ltd budget as a kid. [now if only someone will make gurhkas like the airfix ones i,ll be home and hosed]
cheers Rob
UGH !
I am on the fence about those paratroops being retired.
I want to buy them - but, want to get into deep with WWII
Still waiting on checks to come in - see I am working man's lobbyist![]()
You're fooling no one Ron,you know you want them and will cave like the rest of us
Rob
Probably placing his order as we speak... I mean since the Napoleonic range is being discontinued at the end of the year what's left to collect?![]()
I'd forgotten how good those Airfix Ghurkas were.
Cheers Rob
Rob

Interesting to note - I once had bought the Desert Vickers (EA 16) and the Field Marshal Alexander (EA 11) together at one time. When they came the size difference was too much for me !
EA 16 Vickers was 1/32 and the EA 11 Alexander was 1/30
I ended up selling them both off and really didn't look at the EA again.
Now, with the Crusader and the Ambulance & Stretcher Party - I am getting pulled again.
