Thanks

Did Ike hit you?

No Col Hesler as OZ stated I am in Australia, our Cyclone Season starts in about 2 months. Bad news about Ike.:(

I brought a collection of 500 sets of Frontline Napoleonic last year. 50 sets were badly water damage by a flooded basement and the other 25 have just minor water damage.

Have tried Frontline but no answer, tried to get my Dealer to go through Frontline and they will not sell replacement boxes for some reason.

So hoping someone has a collection of old boxes they do not want.

Yo Trooper, that's one big lot of boxes you are looking for. I am always on the lookout for different boxes for loose sets I have bought. I did thread about this sometime back. I tried a couple of the Toy makers and they wouldn't sell me their boxes for their sets I had, which really miffed me off couldn't understand why they wouldn't sell them, after all they are all struggling to sell items in the market and $$$ are $$$ so they don't want money. I said then there is a big opportunity for someone to start doing Re-pro boxes, either with tie cards in or foam. They don't have to be made specifically for one set IE: you could make them for a set of five cavalry or boxes for infantry, don't need labels on them you can do your own labels. If you look in my album on boxed sets you can see some of the labels I made for the sets Jeff painted of Old Britains. I lot of makers today just put stickers on don't bother with fancy labels, there is nothing fancy about Frontline labels. I think they would be easy to copy if you could get a box near enough to the colour and cut you own foam to suit your sets. Anyway Cobber will keep my eye open for you and let you know if I see any going, the live auctions are sometimes a good bet for items like this.
Bernard.

Bernard,

Thanks for the help and advice.

I too was a bit miffed also that they would not sell me replacement boxes. It was not like I was not willing to pay for them.

I may have a look at other replacement boxes that are available from office supply and gift company's, should be able to find a size to suit. I have the cards and foam inserts, so that should work well.

But then again, may just sell the whole lot and buy another manufactures products that supports there collectors better.

Geez I messed up this time, didn't look at the location; a few thousand miles away. Wow I can't believe I screwed up that bad, my bad.

...they will not sell replacement boxes for some reason...

They may be concerned that a less scrupulous person might cast copies and box them in Frontline boxes, and pass them off as genuine.

Given the lack of respect for intellectual property in the PRC, it's not too far-fetched.

Hope everyone is OK down there, Monty!

I think it could also be related to producing the boxes to correlate to the sets made. If you make 450 pieces I can see a few extra boxes being made (for mishaps) but not a surplus of them.

It is like the old story of calling something a brand name (Frontline, K&C so on) when it is is not.

Or calling it Mint when it is not.

Or copying sets.

Those type of people do not last to long.

It is a big world, but the toy soldier world is very small these days.

Frontline use the same 3 box sizes in all there series, I think.

So it should not be an issue to supply extra boxes.

But if is it a production limitation or pirate/rip off issue that is fine, could understand that. :)

Congrats on the FF purchase. Their Napoleonics are pretty nice. Still have some of them. One of the reasonablly priced for sets and Arty!
