Any of you guys have a plan for 2009?.Any sets you have set your heart on and won't want to miss?.

I'll be gradually finishing my Arnhem and FJ collection and storing up some cash for whats coming in June. For me April's dispatches looks like it will be a highlight, apart from the above i also hope to pick up a retirement now and again. With most of the older Bulge/D Day sets gone i can't wait to see whats around the corner.:)

Collecting will be fine in 2009! ;):)

In the first three months, I would love to finish Arnhem, Egyptians & Crusaders.

Ofcouse I'll start the Luftwaffe series in januari.

Have fun

In 1/30 scale I'm still hoping to see that M31 tank recovery vehicle from Figarti but I'd also like the M26 recovery tractor from K&C. I don't buy many Germans but there are a couple "Normandy SS" sets that I would still like to get. I'm still short a couple sets of BoB Americans that I need. IF I can afford it I am kind of thinking about the Free French M10 and figures - something a bit different that ties in with my US Army WW2 stuff.

I'm also looking to the future and holding some funding back. While I can't claim any special information, my friend Andy does not disappoint us when the summer DDay releases come around, so I am looking toward summer. That's one advantage of being the resident "GI freak" - I can plan on BoB in the fall/winter and DD series in the spring/summer.

There are strong indications that Wm Britains will have some more Normandy GIs in 2009. ONTC has some planned also, but I don't count on them until I see the product on a shelf. Speaking of ONTC I still want some more of the WW1 doughboys, too.

We'll see what 2009 brings for plastics. The crystal ball is still foggy about the major suppliers of WW2 plastic/diecast vehicles and western front figures.

So even with my narrow focus there will be plenty of products for me to waste money on in 2009!

Sounds good Gary, you have a lot to keep you busy this year. The D Day releases have always been a highlight for me too,i am especially looking forward to Junes releases as perhaps we might get some British/Commonwealth troop reinforcements.

I plan on collecting only the new K&C Crusader releases. I also plan on dup0licating some of the Crusaders and Saracens I already have to fill out my dioramas.

I am waiting in eager anticipation for the new Continental Army releases and will hope to get a good few of these, but would also like a few more Hessians and as many 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers as available funds will allow, I need loads and loads of BR040's!!!!

Ps - Congrats on the 8,000+ posts! :D

Fish Hook is bobbing ..... looks like we have one ....

Why YES - Rob - ONLY DEAD AND WOUNDED BRITISH FIGURES ! :p :p :p

HAHAHAHAHA ! ;)

MERRY CHRISTMAS - Robbie ! :D

I plan to collect very selectively only those figures I really feel are "must haves". Right now, the only purchases I have planned are the K&C air war figures & the Comet, and the John Jenkins Jacobites.

Just the Crimean War range from K&C UK and some more additions to the SOHK collection of my wife.

Hey Jeff, looking forward to what Tony's got coming up for us next.

Am also looking forward to more RAF Figures in 2009,i think this is going to be an excellant series-even if i don't have any warbirds!

Rob

The Komet is at the top of my KC list. Maybe a few of the Luftwaffe figures.

Too right Rob! Hopefully some British Guards or some Cossacks (or both :D)

Jeff

Cossacks? In the Home Guard? Don't remember reading about that in my history books. I'll have another look.

New Komet, buy some of the current World War II K&C items. Will see what goes. :)

I had to let the Komet go,lovely aircraft but theres too much other stuff i need.:(

Due to financial constraints, I'm having to limit my 2009 collecting plan to toy soldiers. And vehicles. And the odd rocket propelled plane.

Luckily, I've learnt to focus my collecting plan to the following eras / fields:

Modern era - Figarti / FOV
WWII - Figarti
WWII - HB
WWII - K&C EA
WWII - K&C AK
WWII - K&C FJ
WWII - K&C DD US
WWII - K&C DD Commonwealth
WWII - K&C WS
WWII - K&C BBG
WWII - K&C BBA
WWII - K&C LW
WWII - K&C MG
WWII - K&C OMG:eek:
ZW - Castings
Spartans / Persians - whatever I can get hold of
Napoleonic - just a few additions planned
Scenic pieces - JG, HB, Formtech etc

That said, I don't want to feel constrained in to just buying these narrow fields, so may choose different eras as well.
