Dear Members

Wondering if you chaps can help on this.

I purchased many models from K&C's Hong Kong store when they first opened in the Pacific Place shop and they have mostly been in storage ever since. They look new still. There are the glossy types.

Please go to this link to see their pictures.

I have two questions:

1) Would appreciate members telling me which specific unit/descriptions for these models. I am not that knowledgeable, but could tell the difference between major periods (Zulu vs. Napoleonic, or WWII)

2) How much do you think these models are worth to a serious collector of early King & Country models.

Thanks for your time, take care and keep in touch,

William

William,

You have a very nice collection of old glossies. I can see that some are valuable such as the Royal Horse Artillery Set. It also depends if you group them in sets, rather than single pieces.

I will try to send you an email.

Regards,

Thanks for posting those pictures; beautiful, beautiful collection you have there. My guess is you could probably buy a small island in the south pacific with the proceeds from the sale of that collection........

5. Seaforth Officer with Flag 1990
6. Napoleon on Marango 1994

He's looking to sell these as a group so it could get a little pricy. However, for the most part, they're not sets per se so some of them may not be as expensive as you think. The RHA on the other hand is a different story.

Nice collection but I wouldn't rush out to put a down payment on that private island just yet.;)

Let me guess, you think they should be sold for 1995 Retail prices and anything above that would be a gross overpayment......

Half the value of the collection, based on my past experiences, resides in the Royal Artillery Gun Team, as it has 7 horses, several mounted figures, a gun and a limber - that is a set that has sold for several hundred dollars. The rest of the figures are relatively common Napoleonics and Seaforths, which have all shown up on ebay more than once over the last couple of years. Before the economic crash, the collection would have brought a pretty penny on ebay. I have no idea what they would sell for now.

BAD time to sell those now ! You should wait a couple of more months - those are great figures and with a better economy you would make more for them. IMHO.

I agree with Ron. If you can hold off for a while, I would. K&C are still making reasonable money on the second hand market, but there's been a noticable drop off in the last 3 or 4 months.

Thank you all
