who would change from K&C to first legion (1 Viewer)

I don't know what sounds you are talking about but they are not apparant to the rest of us. On the contrary, I think FL has demonstrated that they are not afraid to tackle whatever subject matter they think they can do well and that covers quite a bit. Price has been covered and its effect quite overstated, as also covered here. How many times can one say quality versus quantity?:) For those that prefer 4 pretty good figures to 3 extremely good ones, those options are available. There are many others of us that would opt for a insignificantly smaller number of better figures.;) FL has given every indication possible that it is committed to quality Napoleonics and they just keep getting better. It has also noted that it has a number of exciting new lines in the works and only one has so far been announced. I frankly wouldn't be surprised at anything they come up with.

I was judging by Matt and i quote"As for WWII, if we were to do a range, it sounds like they'd have to be pretty amazing figures to generate any interest at all!!! So thank goodness the rumors aren't true and we're not doing WWII (or that if we did, they'd be amazing enough to turn a few heads!). Only time will tell I guess..."

I know this could be a bluff so to speak.....who knows ?? time will tell, after all ww2 has been more than well covered in all forms
One doesn't have to keep saying quantity v quality, one is well aware of that ,but as SOME HAVE ALSO INDICATED they'd rather have quantity.
It all depends whether you want all or part of a collection? Many prefer all.
Personally i as already indicated prefer quality but many will stick to K&C

LOL, for it to be a bluff, he would have had to say they "aren't doing WWII" rather than "...if we did they would have to be amazing enough to turn a few heads." Since we all know it is certainly possible for them to do exactly that, I don't think you can read anything into his comments other than his usual clever non committal spin on their future plans. BTW, if Matt gets tired of this business, I think he has a great future in politics.:D Now maybe Combat knows something we don't, maybe someone else here does or .....maybe not.;):D

He's doing WW2, Matt came to me in a dream last night and told me - honest on the virgin Mary its true or maybe it was Johnny Gambale coming into my dreams whispering sweet nothings or something about the DAK. Not sure these days with what my wife is putting in the cooking but WW2 is coming in a big way. Anybody want to take a bet otherwise?:)

I did say "bluff so to speak" (a slightly different meaning;)

who knows whats up his sleeve but it will be good and an interesting wait.
I can wait with anticipation, dont want too much coming out too quick.

I know some of us are great fans of FL, still feel they've a long way to go, theres still a lack of posts on the forum compared to others which suggests......? its only you spit that responds

"By the the sounds of it FL may well be avoiding ww2. I think after the Naps they will go for subjects less well covered which makes sense for max sale potential,i dont think the Naps will be/are flying off the shelves (i may be wrong),probably due to price,a subject already well covered and what this thread was originally about, most aren't going to change their collections"

As the sole US show agent for FL, I can tell you my experience is they are flying off the shelves, I sold over 1,500.00 worth of figures at the recent Annandale toy soldier show I attended. The British foot guards have been a huge success IMO and customers who attend the spring shows here in the US are already emailing me asking what is coming out next and will I have it in time for such and such show, etc.

Price has not been a factor in the sale of their Napoleonics, nor has the fact that the subject is already well covered according to you (aside from the terrific offerings from K & C, enlighten me as to who else has this conflict already covered).

Regarding your comments about avoiding WWII and producing figures for less well covered subjects; time will tell...........

CS, ST Petersburg,K&C,theres no shortage of Nap figures.
i'm simply putting points across which i'm noticing ones as yet no one has given me reason to think otherwise(Please note i'm not being critical) .Its not difficult to get hold of their french 1st line figures(were they the 1st issued?) and limited to 500?
I'm sure and hope they will be a great success as well they should be.
Sorry but price does come into it imo, many will only pay so much for a toy soldier whatever the quality.(not me, i will pay more for quality, within reason) I bought 17 for an average of £25 a peice a fair bit less than the few retailer prices, both had trouble selling them, not an indication of being sort after, not yet anyway.I cant speak for the U S. They would sell well at toy soldier shows anyway wouldn't they? no doubt some more on the bay to.

Bluff means bluff, so to speak or otherwise where I come from; maybe it is different for you; I will ask some of my UK friends to enlighten me.;)

As to the lack of posts, that is simply not correct. If you check the number of posts since they were added to the first page, you will find that they have averaged above all the other producers but K&C, WB and Conte. Now that is no small feat given that they have been around barely one year and have produced only Napoleonics up to this point. K&C is relatively huge and all three have been around for decades. But for Joe and his Zulu dios, they would have averaged above Conte as well. Once again, not bad for a manufacturer producing one range for one year.;)

As to only me responding, well that is hardly the case either. I think if you examine their post record, you will find all of the vocal Napoleonic collectors well represented.;):) I think most think the price discussion has more than run its course and if it weren't for that stubborn Irish blood, so indeed would I. "God save the Irish.":D

yes you may need enlightening, well i'm not going to continue on things that we've been through before,i'm not averaging things just some dicussions haven't progressed infact they seem to have come to the K&C one.why you seem to take it as being critical FL i dont know? its simply observations
Do the Irish still exist? nobody irish lives there anymore:D its all Polish now (a wonderfull place it must be;more in America (well honoury ones) than ireland) have you been there lately? I love being irish & so proud but dont want to live there lol.

It's incredible that this thread has gone on long as it has, particularly over nothing.
