Although I'd surely like to offer a clearer pic of a Regt. La Sarre Standard that came in this morning's mail...this shot showing off the Drummer,is my all-around fav. I won both the Colour & Drummer from a Collector in Quebec,I'm embarrassed to admit ,at a very buyer-friendly rate  His packing technique knows few peers and he's an honour to deal with.I've won four of his TA auctions, and though I hope to win another in a few days...Sssssh ;) I'd feel better if some of my er colleagues ? usual suspects ? nemeses ? would liven things up a bit :D

John,
Once again, kudos on some really nice GLOSSY figures! You know who would really like those uniforms? TheBaron Brad! What auctionhouse are you winning this stuff on?
Congrats on the great bargains, also. That's half the fun of bidding and collecting!

ACH !:rolleyes: APPARENTLY I've devolved into a creature sufficiently eBay-centric as to be able to neglect mentioning the venue !!!!!
Love a bargain as well...but after awhile it just gets silly.
THANK YOU,Mike for pointing out the omission,I may well have never noticed :D
the auctionhouse then is eBay.ca ,but this seller's listings will show up on a U.S. based search for "tommy atkins".

I've learned some new things today! K&C makes toy soldiers and ebay has good deals!
I would still love to go to a non-ebay alternative venue that served the little guys!
Mike

You're right, Mike, that is a great little set, and a great auction coup, too!

I went to Tommy Atkins' website and saw that they do sell their castings, as well as painted figures, so I know where I can get other 18th century British to fill out my ranks.

Prost!

Brad, www.fusilierminiatures.com will provide a more complete idea of the possibilities :)
Can't leave this thread over long neglected

Grenadier Coy. Officer of the Frasers (& have snuck in a bit of a Mignot tree-voila! a diorama:eek:).This figure is one of my latest favs-reminds me of 18th century heroic portraiture

John,
First of all, all cropping issues are reconcilable, if you have relatives in graphic design (my brother). Second, I like the first picture better:D I see what appears to be a birch tree and a stockade fence in the background:cool: Are those miniatures, a photo background, or the real outdoors? I can't tell, which makes the scene that much better! Keep up the great work and stories!
Mike

Very nice figures and dio's. It's rare we get to see female figures, much less in Scottish garb holding a bairn. Great stuff.

Thanks John for the wonderful new scenes. Your glossy collection brightens every day:)

Hi, John! Actually, I already have, I've picked up some Hussar Miniatures, of some hussar miniatures :D from Fusilier. Those are queued up for assembly and painting for a thread in the near future.

Your pics continue to delight and entertain!

Prost!

My brother's undoubtedly off preachering at someone somewhere in the widy widy world-so long as it's not here & at me :D Fence look familiar ?;)

John

Do you have this set? It is my kind of artistic subject.
I would love to add it to my glossy collection someday.

Randy, No, not yet -looks like TA's "After Culloden" vignette -the woman with her bundle & posture is eloquent.
I'm pleased that you enjoyed the pics, after the excitement of last week, it was seeming sepulchral here in More Glossy...
Best,John
